We'll see how many white soldiers are in Lee's film. It seems to me that I remember reading that soldiers were pretty much segregated in WW2, Hogan's Heroes aside.

Not many, I would guess, although I'm sure he couldn't get away without white extras to represent the majority population. There's no reason to go off specifically on Eastwood--I would venture to say that no one doing a WWII movie thinks about making sure the races are fairly represented.
Well, again, the races were segregated in the Army in the 40s. So I don't see where Lee can really complain much about Eastwood not having random black soldiers showing up.
