I'm constantly amazed you believe anyone cares for your opinion on games. As to why you think we care concerning your ineptitude towards reading minimum requirements....

Hey git, if I wanted to know someones opinion on the first 10 levels of a game, a person who has never touched end game or even gone any deeper than 3 weeks into a game then ..... oh f'uck who am I kidding I still wouldn't look to SR for a review.

The guy has played a lot of games but unsuprisingly is so disconnected from even the most basics of MMO gaming.

The game's running smoothly at high quality for me. I'm digging it. I've been playing around with the various classes and I have to say that I'm leaning towards Assassin right now - it's the first class that I've been easily pulling off special moves (i.e., beheadings) and it is good.

I really enjoyed playing the Assassin tonight. I still want to try a Ranger as well. The Barbarian didn't really do it for me. I've checked out the tank classes but since I'm playing a tank in WoW, I'd like to step away from the tanking and try dps and a healer (Priest of Mitra).

What a waist indeed. Smiley: rolleyes

I'm really enjoying the game, give it an 8/10. The realism and the graphics alone are engrossing, there is actually a story and the character classes, although very very prelim, are different and fun.

I'm just impressed that on launch day there wasn't a single server shutdown notice. It was suprisingly stable.

I got a weird email about this game today.

Told me to log into my account (I wasn't aware I even had one) and claim some cape. I don't have the game and wasn't in the beta, although I *am* getting the newsletter.

Meh.

Just out of curiosity, what class are you playing? And why? And how high are they?

I got my new graphics card yesterday, and it's now running perfectly. It looks absolutely beautiful, and plays really smoothly. Loving it so far.

I jsut can't make my mind up as to what class to play. I've levelled 3 to lvl 9-10 so far, and i'm enjoying them all equally. I get a feeling this game was made with a focus melee classes, so I'm thinking I should go for one, but some of the animations for the casters, especially the spellweaving ones, look quite awesome.

Anyway, I though about PM-ing this to you instead, but figured you could use a few more posts.

I'm going with at least 1 toon per class (with some exceptions for tank and dps classes). So far, I like the Conqueror for tank, Assassin & Ranger for dps, Priest of Mitra for healer, and Demonologist for mage dps.

I'm going to make a Guardian and Templar today to check them out.

How are you finding it? I took one lvl 9, and was slightly underwhelmed. I know it doesn't mean much before lvl 20 or so, but I don't really have time take all those classes to lvl 20. I've played a Barb to lvl 10 and am really enjoying, but I'm slightly put off by the fact every Conan fan will roll one. I'm usually Caster orientated, but this game seems focused on melee. Dilemnas, dilemnas...

Let me know how you get along, I'm intrested in the opinion of people. And by "people" I don't mean the retards that post on the official AoC forums, they're almost as bad as the wow O-boards.

I read that as "dermatologist for dps".

SCALPEL!

I don't doubt for one second that most Conan users could use a dermatologist. But then I'm not sure they'd like healing classes.

I have necro to 13. She's a ***** to play, but fun to suck the souls out of people. Partnered with a ranger and root, we lay waste to just about everything.
I have bear shaman to 8, really tough until 15 I've heard.

Casters are having a tough time, the pure melee is a little bit OP'ed, but it evens out.

Everything I've read said to enjoy 1-20 for what it is, but the game opens up after you leave the island.

Just so I have some perspective on this:

(1) What is the level cap?

(2) What is the max group size?

(3) How many classes and races are there?

(4) Are the main class types: tank/healer/dps? More? (Do you need a puller? Crowd controller? Slower/buffer?)

1. 80
2. 6, not sure about raiding though
3. 3 races, 12 different classes. Each race is human in appearance but has different belief systems that determine class types, main towns, etc. Very spot on with Conan lore.
4. There are 4 groups of classes, Soldier, Healer, Rogue, Caster. Each group has 3 classes that all do similar things in different ways. I can't really comment about the details yet. It's been said the three healers can all heal well, just do it differently. None is a main healer, one is CC/heal, one DPS/heal, one Group buff/heal.

Don't quote me on the class types piece, just what I am hearing. I'm only lvl 13 so far.

Oh, if anyone does decide to try it out, my brother (roniath from WoW) and I are on Wiccana, the un-official RP-PVE server. Look for Dahlira, Sularis, Roniath.

I got one of those too.

I've heard some suprisingly positive stuff so far. Maybe once work settles down I'll be compelled to give it a whirl. It'd be nice if they have a trial version by that time.

I've only gotten mine up to 6 (out of like 8 toons run up to 6 or so in the first few days to check them all out) and I died like maybe once to 3 mobs on me - never had problems with 2 on me so far. Fun class and I'm sure will be amazing as I level him up. That said, he's not my main - just got my assassin up to 13 today and he's a blast...still, I want to work up my ranger and see how he compares to the assassin.

I found my Priest of Mitra to be pretty decent up to level 6 - The initial healing spell takes some time to cast and was all but useless to interrupt my fighting/smiting spells to heal myself - died when I tried it twice. Hopefully, they get a faster casting healing spell in higher levels. Haven't grouped with others yet just soloing for now. I figure I'll get my toons up to at least 10 before I start looking to group - I want to get comfortable with the classes first.

Regarding the AoC forums - still haven't been able to get on yet - I have registered my game after release and I've registered on the forums - I seem to be caught in limbo since they aren't opening the forums to the public.
