Of course, I voted for Alan Keyes in 2000 as well. He was more viable as a candidate eight years ago though...

Keyes for 2012!

Hahah!

I live in Georgia and I voted for the black guy too. There's such an amazing turnout in my town for him . . . too bad that the rest of the state is as red as it gets. :(

Maybe I am too invested in HRC I dont know, but last night on CNN watching everyone shout down Carville everytime he brought up Florida/Michigan, I grew despondent about a Democrat winning the election.

Obama will probably win the Democratic ticket, Clinton wont play second fiddle.

Mccain will move back to his normal position in the middle now that this diversion has allowed him to shore up his right wing base.

The RNC will run ads in MI and FL. In MI they will say something like Obama cares for your state so much he didnt even bother to put his name on your ballot (really if he wanted it on there why isnt it? Does he lack the fortitude? influence? desire?). In FL it will say something like he fought tooth and nail to make sure that your votes didnt matter in chosing your cannidate. Combine this with a probable Govenor Chirst as running mate for McCain and .....

Wright will still be an issue. Obama will fire back as much as he can with the 100 year war, but if they dont start doing some serious comprimise to bring MI and FL back into the fold it really wont matter if Obama wins the popular vote.

I dont think he will btw on camera everyone is woohoo the black guy but as proven in election results rural white america doesnt trust this guy and votes against him. It appears I am not unusual as a HRC supporter and will vote McCain over Obama (again I live in AZ my vote doesnt matter, but its good to know that I am not a nutcase)

I will grant you that I didnt think the Republicans would have the fortitude to run they guy they love to hate but its their only hope to win and they know it.

Help me Obi John McObi your my only hope.

The saddest thing is I didnt think that after Bush a Republican could win. I am now starting to see it as inevitable.

I havent totally surrendered to it yet though HRC is still running and even though her chance is a snowball in hells its still a chance.

MI/FL will be seated. It'll happen after it's certain that their delegates will have zero effect on the actual nomination but they will be seated. I assume some deal will be reached in MI to give Obama some percentage of the delegates.

Incidentally, Obama is leading McCain in Michigan polling. I don't think most people there took Obama withdrawing his name as a sign that he "doesn't care about them". The most recent FL poll (Quinnipiac on 4/29 with 1,411 likely voters polled) only gave McCain a 1% edge in Florida.

Hell, last night the pundits were already talking about how, even if you add FL/MI into the mix as of last night, Obama still leads in the delegate count. By August, there'll be no reason to exclude them.

Probably true but with attack ads and even a direct question how do you defend this?

a) well I didnt have enough money and I knew your votes wouldnt count?

Really thats about the best I have for it. McCain says why did you take your name off the ballot in MI. Obama replies with?

I do think McCain will go back to the center even Bush in 2000 did this, I see no reason why McCain will not.

"Following the DNC ruling, Senator Clinton, John Edwards and myself signed an agreement not to campaign in Michigan and Florida. As a sign of my commitment to that agreement and, with all of the candidates understanding that the DNC had stripped Michigan of its delegates, I made the decision to withdraw from the ballot."

Really, I don't see how staying on the ballot would have proved that Obama did care about the people of Michigan. If I was in Michigan, I'd be more worried about how Obama planned to handle whatever issues were affecting my state than whther or not he was on the primary ballot after the DNC and my state legislature got into a pissing match.

By the way, money wasn't a factor. Obama was already setting record fund raising and all the candiates had signed pledges not to campaign in the rogue states so there was nothing to spend money on.

Agreed this is his statement. Maybe I am dumb, maybe I am part of the majority but to me this is very easily put as I don't care about you. Why remove your name if you know no one will campaign? Clinton was ahead in polling so you figured why show yourself getting smeared? At best it makes him look cowardly and afraid of negative results, to people not as intelligent as you and Smash aka people like me. It means he didnt care about their decsion. If he had the money then he cant even weasel out on finances. It means it was a cognitive deciscion to avoid getting spanked publicly, again at best.

It would have been easier to stay on the ballot then to take your name off of it. Why take your name off of it? Its another gap and a big one, in this man. To me he is inexperienced and has beautiful rhetoric. I watched a MTV special with him and her and some Iraqi vets I was leaning toward her but hadnt decided at this point. He went on first, he was amazing I loved him decided I was going to vote for him. Then she came on and it was a little gruff at first, the vets had liked him it was obvious, but she slowly and with actual plans and facts won them and me over it was the dreamer vs the doer and she won.

A friend of mine from NY told me that it was amazing Gulliani was kicking her ***, clear lead, obviously going to win. But then she went out sat with people and let them hear and understand her, she won the NY senate by convincing people up close and personal that she was not the "***** first lady Clinton" but someone who realized their fears, dreams, goals, and knew how to fufill them. I after that special was convinced. Clinton can do it, Obama has dreams about it.

Sure he may actually do it but 32 teams pick in the first round of the NFL draft, they evaluate brains, speed, talent, gamefilm and then pay these guys inordinate amounts of cash, most of them fail or underachieve. What I am being asked to do here to me is pick this unproven talented, smart, well spoken, plenty of speed, rookie over Brian Urlacher/Ray Lewis to be my middle linebacker. Hell I could be wrong but if the Cardinals for the same money could get Urlacher/Lewis over the 18th pick in the draft I am taking the veteran. I am not sure how else to explain it I am not a genius and can only break it down as it appears to me.

With HRC I get a proven commidity. I get the rockstar as the first gentlemen (sue me if he asked me for sex I would probably do it, I ******* love Bill, I might even like it =P) With Obama I get his dreams. I am 38 years old now I have seen too many rookies with all the potential in the world wash out. I would rather have a known commidity aka a sentor I know and have voted for 3x in my state win as president (McCain) then this unproven dreamer if I cant have HRC.

Anyways I am rambling and will stop. She still has a chance so I am still hopeful. I dontated 50.00 bucks to her today, no I am not rich never claimed to be so she will have to settle.

Maybe? Did you read what you just posted?

I mean, even the fUcking weird football analogy is flawed, because everyone knows that Lewis and Urlacher aren't the players the used to be. You basically said you'd pick a washed up talent over potential, not that I agree either way.

Look, you're really easily swayed and scared. It's okay. You just shouldn't be allowed to vote, is all.

No really?

Ok for those more challegned then even me, make it Brady/Manning vs Ryan/Brohm etc.

Brady/Eli probably still gonna win, Matt Ryan/Brohm 10-50 mill and erm maybe.

Just shut the fUck up with the football analogy. It was really just a fun tangent to pick on you with and it's utterly irrelevant because you believe this:

It doesn't mean any of those things. It means he's honoring his word to respect the DNC's ruling. If anything can be read into it, it's that this is yet another testament to his integrity. And Christ, learn to fUcking spell decision.

"It's clear, this election they're having is not going to count for anything" -- Senator Clinton on New Hampshire Public Radio regarding the Michigan primary

So Clinton says that MI won't "count for anything" but she's a better person for keeping her name on a ballot which won't "count for anything"? I don't see it.

Fair enough. Vote for whomever you want to vote for. Personally, I think Obama best matches what I want in a candidate. Nothing to do with dreams or whatever, his policies just match mine the best.
