Flyers came out like their skates were on fire tonight. Absolutely awesome performance during the first period, although I think it cost them the two goals in the third just due to fatigue.

Sorry the Pens destroyed the Flyers in the series. It was only a speed bump on our road to the cup. But look on the bright side, It free's up time for other things Philly fans like to do,....like booing landing at the airport....

Unfortunately the series ended when Timmonen and Coburn both got hurt. The Flyers' defense was already its weak point and losing their top two defensemen against an offensive team like the Penguins was just too much to overcome. It was still a fun year. Considering the moves Holmgren made in the offseason last year, I feel pretty confident they will make some significant improvements to their defense.
Pittsburgh better win it this year. They have a half dozen free agents and are fooling themselves if they think they can keep paying both Crosby and Malkin in a city where nobody watches hockey until they make the playoffs.
