I watched "High Fidelity" again last night.
I loved the book - Nick Hornby at his trivial, silly, blokish best. When I heard the movie would be transposed from London to Chicago I was gutted.
In fact, I went to see it twice when it was released. The screenplay & direction were faithful to the spirit of the book, and John Cusack was superb.
It was only last night when I watched it again I saw the main protagonist as Smasharoo for the whole movie.
Funnily enough, it maintained my perceptions of the character and Smash from start to finish.
