It comes down to this: Regardless of their regular season record, Bah-ston still comes from the Eastern Conference. Let's face it, the East is least and the West is best. Other than the flukey Miami championship where quite possibly the most limp wristed team evah to win took home the trophy, the East is where most of the second stringers hang out. The real winners choose to live out west. And the last time I checked, Bah-ston is about as far east as you can get without being French.

Trust me when I tell you this, no one cares until they make the finals. It's a baseball town. The Patriots have the advantage of playing most of their games after the Red Sox season is over, that's how they can co-exist. We've won 16 NBA championships, it's not a big deal even if they win it in dramatic fashion.

They also have the advantage of being in the same division as the Jets, Bills and Dolphins. The Sox, on the other hand, regularly have to contend with one of the best teams in sports. And thrash them often.

That's one point of view, the other, more accurate point of view is that the Yankees can be considered to be "sucking floppy donkey ****" for not making it to the ALCS after spending 5000 trillion dollars.
