Tryin to figure out how to quarry the stuff now. In the process of building a governer's house atm.

For those that missed my original town it's @Kinuitia[53:3] > Zelton.

So what do you do once you've built a colony on another island to get the materials on that island?

Build a trading port on the new island. Click on it, select the name of the town you want to send whatever to (it will list all the cities in your empire), load whatever one it, voila!

Anyone in need of wine? My people are awfully drunk and my trading post is up to level 3, I can unload and send back goods quickly (3 ships ready).

Expansion research done soon.

I meant as far as harvesting the natural resources of that island.

I need marble, the island next door has marble. I built a colony there but the marble quarry has no option for me to send workers there. I'm guessing it's just a time thing and I need to build that colony up with more citizens/things before I can start doing that.
#156 May 07 2008 at 3:12 AM Rating: Good
ZelgadisXI you need to have researched Wealth to harvest whatever natural resource you need.

You probably already know that, if you can harvest your original island's resource... Can you?
#157 May 07 2008 at 3:19 AM Rating: Good
Shykre, I can use some wine, maybe 300, I can trade you 300 Sulphur, 300 Marble, or 150 of each...

Send me a message in game or over here, just so I know what you need.
#158 May 07 2008 at 4:21 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, I can harvest my grapes. :P

I'm pretty much full out upgraded on everything I can be with as much Marble that they give you starting off.

I STILL can't do anything on the other island. Won't let me harvest the marble there. >< What's going on with this?

Well, new Crystal colony, fresh off the assembly line.

Seyar, Osaeos, [68:29], DeathQueen Isle, Crystal Glass.

Saving up for the last colony (surely wine) and the triple upgrade of palace + governor's mansion and the new mansion will be hellish.

Don't get wine, get another marble. Sell excess marble and buy wine with gold. I have 5 cities on my server, 3 of them are marble, I wish all 5 were marble. Trust me, build marble cities. Marble sells for more than you will pay to buy any other resource. Build marble, sell some for gold, use the gold to buy any other resource you need. If I put Marble for sale on my trader at 50-60 it always sells. If I put a buy order on trader for glass at 30-40 someone always brings me some, same is true for wine at 15-20 and sulfur at 10-15. If you trade your marble direct for other resources you will lose some of the value of the marble. It is best to sell it for gold and put a buy order in gold for the other resources you need.

Ohkay....
You can't figure out how to get the marble, huh?
Have you tried clicking on the quarry from the island view of your new colony? That might help!

Anywho, after that, if you want to get the marble to your original town, you have to go through the process of building a trading port on your new colony, then ship it there with your cargo ships.

Anybody know if that works with the trading outpost?
I haven't built one, so I don't know how they work yet.

Edit: Reminder to self---> Hit next page before posting a reply dumbass.

If you have the marble colony selected, go to the World view and find your capital, then click on "Transport." Of course, without a trading port, you load goods at a speed of 3 goods per minute, so a single cargo ship will take 1h 40m to load.

Yes. That's how I found out I have no option to send workers. I only have the option to donate to it. Which it won't let me do that.

If you're on Theta you can take a look at my colony. I assure you it's there. It just won't let me take materials. Turatia[53:2] > New Zelton. My main town is on the island next to it with Grapes. Zelton.

Yes, I can harvest other things on my main island. I've been doing it for quite some time now. It won't let me do it on the colony island. I can't find any information as to why I can't. I've even built everything I could on that colony. It's got population.

I've got a Tavern in it, Governer's House, Trading Port, Trading Post, Warehouse and Barracks.

In the drop-down town selection box, make sure that your marble quarry town is selected when you try to allocate workers.

I knew what you were doing wrong, too, but I thought it was funny to imagine you getting all frustrated.

Except that I can't get anyone to buy or sell anything. All of the resources I have I had to harvest for myself. I can occasionally get someone to take some the excess wine off my hands, but I can't get rid of anything else I have, and I can't buy the Sulfur I need at any price.

Very frustrated. Any time I loaded it up I would get pissed. Of course, I didn't get on very often since I had the trouble with it.

But I assure you. When I had the game loaded up and I clicked in vain on the marble vein I was one frustrated ******

So raise or lower the price of your offers. It's not brain surgery, it's basic Economics. Or you can upgrade your Trading Post so you can look farther afield for offers.

In my old universe/world I never had an issue with finding local trades. Now I feel like I am isolated with noobs who have no idea the value of using the Market. I am finally starting to boom since I expanded out and got on an island with some marble. Starting out with Sulphur SUCKS ***.

At least you can build an army with sulfur. I started out with grapes.

Wine is 1000000 times more useful than sulphur.

I am having the same problem as Turin, there is no resources for sale, none.

It doesn't matter how much you offer if no one is selling.

As a result i have a marble Island with 500 marble for sale and no buyers when i am selling at a lower price than i am buying wine.

So i am going colonise on the wine island next and then sit for a while untill i am upto lvl 3 on all Gov houses and then hit a Glass island to finish up the set, I don't have to rely on outside help at that point.

I'm working towards a similar goal. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm playing catch up now that I've finally gotten onto a marble island. I had to raid a few lowbie marble islands near by to get enough marble to even expand my first town enough to colonize another.
