Ok, after learning the hard way about the whole action points system, which I think sucks, I'm only sending out much larger shipments at a time. I can't send out anything until this afternoon since I'm waiting for three ships to come back. Stupid action points.

Got the sulphur mines up and running, and I can have 100 units up and on the way tonight, or 200 units tomorrow morning.
I'm thinking that marble or wine are what I'm going to be needing the most at this stage of the game.

go to the world map and start sending out mesages to the people on the marble islands. Thats how i got people to trade with me.

Bleh. I'm attempting to do trades with GitSlayer, but both of his colonies are too far away from me. So right now he's sending me like 250 wine and I can't send a single sulfur back in exchange! And since I'm out of marble, I can't upgrade my port so I can reach him.

In order to trade with those outside of your island cluster, you need to have a Trading Post of level 3 or higher, and the Expansion research completed.
So, y'know, don't blow everything on your port since it doesn't matter one bit.

Anyone curious on what you may get on a raid, my first raid on a level 3 town, just got me:
From my troops: ~300 gold, ~60 wood
From my ships: 459 wood, 128 wine, 11 sulphur
The battle consisted of 6 slingers vs. 0 troops and no wall. I lost one slinger.
I'll be raiding more often.
I raided an inactive town around my island for 48 building material. Better than nothing.

You might want to hold off on the port building. The larger your port, the more resources attackers can grab when they pillage you.

Just started a marble colony... Don't know whether to go for wine or crystal next. Crystal is nicer for research, but wine will let me grow more peons.
