A pretty uneventful week. The kitchen remodel is coming slow, I am going crazy from all the clutter in my house, I almost installed EQ2 again (argh!), the Habs cheered me up last night, and I'm off for pre-birthday beers with DSD tonight.

The rest of the weekend holds the same as usual. Much yardwork, running errands and mommyin'.

Whatchoo got?

Waking up early Sat. to climb on a plane and go visit my side of the family in VA. I have to tie up several loose ends at work, come home, cook, pack and try to get a decent night's sleep. We were going to drive out, but thankfully my father kicked in the extra cash to put us all on a plane. I'm really looking forward to the break, and plan to kick my pager to the curb forthwith.

I've got yoga tonight, and then I'm cooking dinner for my girlfriend's mum and sister, who are staying with us this weekend.

Saturday footy, and then a friend's 30th birthday. Makes me feel old Smiley: frown

Sunday chilling, and hoping nobody threatens to jump off their window. I saw that woman yesterday, she was back. They only kept her for a few days apparently. Not sure if its safe, but well.

And the rest of the time, I'll be preparing for my trip to Chicago, to start a career in Joph-stalking. I'm leaving Tuesday Smiley: sly

Go right ahead. We won't be here!

Edit: Oh, and the Sears Tower is pricey and overrated. Go to the Hancock for free, and have drinks and/or dinner on a clear day.

Well all the touristy stuff won't be a problem. Not that you want to hear my lifestory, but I'm going there with the french association of architects, so we'll see all the building/architectural stuff, and then see them again until I puke giant skyscrapers. I will PM Joph (cos I'm a bit scared of you) for advice on non-touristy stuff that's worth seeing.

You could go through the Allanois pictures and take pictures of yourself standing in different spots we were. That would be sufficiently creepy.

As for myself: Tomorrow, the ex and I will take mon petit pois to the circus (where, she tells me, there will be lions that she will protect me from..."Don't worry mama! You'll be safe with me!") After that, I'll be dropping her and her daddy off at his place and returning home for a fun filled weekend of cleaning and writing. I have three papers to finish for Tuesday, and I need to have my final, edited, thoroughly abused copy of my thesis in for Wednesday. Then, however, fin!

I also need to rake leaves, prep the yard for gardening, finish painting my bedroom, clean the washer and dryer, mop the floors, get rid of some clutter, clean out the shed, etc, etc, etc.

That would make an awesome public toilet.

I defy you to find a trolley that plays Dark Side of the Moon as you cruise the city streets.

Impossible!

Tonight I got a date with my kid to go to the cinema (movie suggestions??).

Tommorrow, maybe, we're supposed to get our 5 cords of firewood delivered..in the form of logs. So begins the summer long job of sawing, splitting and stacking. We've not ever gotten firewood this way, but if we're productive it will save loads in heating costs for next winter.

I'm in cram time for my term paper, so lots of anti-procrastination techniques will be deployed...beginning NOW! (NO GAMES, NO GAMES, NO GAMES)

Tonight I'll hopefully be hitting the bar or at least partying somewhere for the first time in months. Then tomorrow, I'm probably going to a local bar to see The Trews perform.

I'll be spending all of Sunday with my girlfriend as it's our two year anniversarry.

Looks to be a fun weekend.

I've been ignoring these Friday threads for weeks now because they're typically just a reminder that every day of my life is work, but this time it's different!

Tomorrow morning I'm hopping on a plane and heading down to the San Francisco Bay. I'll be down there for about a week checking out a few properties and generally ******** around. Going to a Giants game Sunday, and another Wednesday. My dad's in Oakland, so I imagine I'll do dinner with him a couple times, too. He'll probably come to the Sunday game with me, since I have four tickets. Maybe we'll get some hookers, too. Not sure when I'm coming back, probably next Friday but I may stay right through next weekend, too.

Out of curiousity BT, what do you do about the animals when you're away? Do you hire someone to actually stay out at the farm and care for them or do you have some sort of an arrangement with a neighbor? They seem like a lot of work.

It's different every time I go anywhere, but this time my Joan is here to watch them.

Joan is my top client, and she comes up pretty often, anyway. I have twenty-six dogs here right now, and twelve of them are hers. I used to pay this cute girl from the vet to come and take care of the dogs every now and then, and I'd take a day off, but ever since she got married she's never available.

Oh well that's great...at least you'll have no doubt that she'll take very good care of them! I hope you have a great trip!

I have a buddy who's company rented out Six Flags Magic Mountain tonight. So going to that, which is awesome since I havent been in about 4 or 5 years. Best part is the park is closed, so no general public, which means no lines.

This weekend I will be watching the NFL draft so that I may cheer/boo/hiss as I watch my team work through their 13 draft picks.
