I know a lot of you seem to follow MR. Obama Barrak, but at the rate this thing is going Hillary might actually have a shot at winning this thing. The whole he can't win a big state card is not going to go away now.

Primary =/= General Election.

When over half the country ******* hates Hillary, there's no way in hell she can beat McCain. And the smart supers know it.

She has absolutely zero chance in North Carolina and currently cannot overcome Obama

It's largely meaningless. Obama has as much chance of losing California in the general as Clinton has of losing Illinois.

Even in Pennsylvania, both Democratic candidates hold a 8%+ lead in polling over McCain. You'd be better off focusing your argument on Ohio and Florida.

Just for giggles (I find giggles in odd places), here's the polling vs. McCain in states with 15+ electoral votes. I picked 15 because it was large enough to include states such as Michigan which received attention last election. I'm calling a 1% range a tie (45-44, etc). I imagine the MOE is greater than that from poll to poll but I'm not submitting a PoliSci thesis here either. I'm taking my state-by-state data from Electoral-Vote.com

State EVs Win Tie Lose
=================================================
California 55 C/O
New York 31 C/O
Texas 34 O C
Florida 27 C O
Illinois 21 C/O
Pennsylvania 21 C/O
Ohio 20 C O
Michigan 17 O C
Georgia 15 C/O
New Jersey 15 O C
North Carolina 15 O C

That gives us:
Clinton with 148 Electoral Votes "won" and 42 "tied"
Obama with 160 Electoral Votes "won" and 49 "tied"

Hardly a sweeping "large state" argument for Clinton. Again, I'll grant allowances that some of the polling is older and there's varied margins of error, etc. You could also cut off the 15 EV states but that would just essentially tie Clinton & Obama in "wins" and "ties". No matter how you look at it, Clinton's "large state" argument doesn't really hold up and the superdelegates are going to be presented with the actual math, not just "Clinton won California and New York!".

Zero chance.

There's been zero chance for months now.

Let me enlighten you as to why Hillary continues to run:

Money. That's it. She needs to continue to raise money to pay her campaign debts. She is completely aware that she has absolutely zero chance of winning the nomination. None at all. She just wants to continue to raise money. Let me repeat. Obama has won the nomination, Clinton needs to raise more money, that's the whole story. Bookmark this page, then in July when it's obvious this was the case all along, come back and read it and punch yourself in the cunt for being such a fucking mindless drone that you clung to the hope that someone who looked like you might win.

She may have won, but the New York Times, has called for her to stop the negative campaign, if she wants to reassure the Super Delegates that she needs for the nomination.

Quote:
The Pennsylvania campaign, which produced yet another inconclusive result on Tuesday, was even meaner, more vacuous, more desperate, and more filled with pandering than the mean, vacuous, desperate, pander-filled contests that preceded it.

Voters are getting tired of it; it is demeaning the political process; and it does not work. It is past time for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to acknowledge that the negativity, for which she is mostly responsible, does nothing but harm to her, her opponent, her party and the 2008 election.

If nothing else, self interest should push her in that direction. Mrs. Clinton did not get the big win in Pennsylvania that she needed to challenge the calculus of the Democratic race. It is true that Senator Barack Obama outspent her 2-to-1. But Mrs. Clinton and her advisers should mainly blame themselves, because, as the political operatives say, they went heavily negative and ended up squandering a good part of what was once a 20-point lead.

That's MR. Barack Obama to you, there, cowboy.

Since he's likely to be your next President you may as well start getting his name right.

Ron Paul took about 10% of the Pennsylvania vote last night Smiley: laugh

I've received no less than five fundraising e-mails each from both the Clinton and Obama campaigns since last night. Yeesh.

Why are people acting like Hillary winning Pennsylvania was some kind of being upset or surprise? Or it really means anything at this point? Literally, Hillary would have to win by 20 points there and in the remaining large states to actually make enough of an impact to sway the superdelegates and clinch this.

Doubtful. There's far too much conservative sentiment in this country. I can envision mobs of Hestonites staking out polling stations to keep the darkie from winning come election night.

The tee vee told them it did.

Most people have no understanding of current events aside from repeating verbatim whatever was said on television in the last 24 hours.

Er? Are you referring to the man who joined anti-segregation protests before it was popular? The guy who supported JFK and marched with Dr. King?

Or are you talking about the guy who realized that 20 years later the "cause" had been corrupted and turned into a political correctness farce that no longer represented the ideals that it was originally based on?

I just find your choice of words odd...

I don't know, fuckstick, when you refer to "Hillary" are you referring to the voulenteer for Goldwater's campaign in '64?

Just when I think you can't get any more hackneyed or stupid, you prove me wrong.

Sadly for you, it's the only time that happens.

When she was what? 17 and in highschool? Gasp! She was president of the Young Republicans in college!!! For like a year or two... Then she decided to become a liberal democrat and has been the entirety of her adult life.

Want to make another stupid comparison?

And yet I still find it more plausible for Obama to make a serious run at it than Hillary. If she wins, they may as well swear McCain in right then and there.

I don't think she's running to make up the cash (she's not even likely to break even), or because she thinks it's the best thing for the country. It's just plain old milquetoast hubris. She can't fathom she won't be the nominee.

I'm just pissed because she, more than McCain, has been responsible for all the stupid minutiae flung at Obama in recent weeks. At least he can maintain his grace, though. At least McCain isn't so obvious when he tosses one from the trenches.

Nah, she's not that stupid.

It's either money or she's intentionally trying to scar Obama for the general, and I really don't think she's quite that evil.
