the release date is set. may 20th.

apparently, nudity and gore filters were added out of fear parents would not let their kids buy it.

as if parents did anything to stop grand theft auto from being such a hit.....

nudity and gore is what will sell it. the grind and trade skills sure as heck wont/

I'm really interested to hear what the first twenty levels are like. Those are always the best.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!

Unless it requires grouping. Then nfw, man, nobody's gonna do that.

Yeah, it's such a pain trying to divide up which women you get to hear the lamentations of. Much easier to take them all for yourself.

I think the answer is to kill them all once you get there.

Your party members I mean.

I can't help but laugh. AoC's selling point was that it was going to hold a Mature ESRB rating. Filtering out the points they spent years marketing is like making a statement prior to release that sounds like "We've already failed, on an Epic level, at holding to what we spent years marketing to generate an interest in our game."

AoC, IMO, just became every other MMO on the market with that decision. Glad I didn't invest much time keeping an getting excited about it.

It's going to be sh*t, don't Bother.

The combat system was illconcieved and utterly broken and hasn't even come close to being fixed.

It's not an MMO, it's a console game released on PC and will have a life of about 2 minutess for the over 12.

It's reported to have no, depth little gameplay and require cutting edge hardware to achive average graphics.

The only thing that will sell it is the title and the promice of gore and it' will leave everyone monumentally disappointed.

It's already being talked about in the same breath as Vanguard in terms of Flop factor.

It's a shame, I need a new MMO. I'm utterly sick of WOW, and while Lotro is enjoyable, I miss the PvP aspect. I don't really wanna wait 6 months for WH either, or for the new WOW expansion which will probably be more of the same.

Pirates of the Burning Sea it is, then.

Judging from the clips I've seen, the "gore" looks plain silly. Big Mortal Kombatesque blood sprays and stuff. After two minutes, I'd be looking for a way to turn it off to help filter lag because it sure as hell doesn't add anything to the game.

Smiley: nod

I'm bummed, I was very much looking forward to this one, especially as they were saying you had to be 17+ to play it. I was debating on getting the PC version or waiting for the xbox version. Now, I don't know if I'd bother with either.

Maybe I'll rent it from Blockbuster and give it a day or two.

It's a MMO...just do the trial (when it goes live). I'm sure they'll be begging people to come play after a month or two (while firing all their current development staff and being absorbed by SoE/EA/Etc).
