It's a bit breezy in sunny Cornwall today, just a tad you understand, enough to ruffle ones hair if you get my drift.

The afternoon started fairly benignly, and i was beavering away like a good sailor solving Engineers problems because they are useless and break everything.(they blame the Pilots of course but as Tot3m will agree, it's always the Engineers fault)

Suddenly the peace and quiet was broken by a rather unsettling cracking noise, from the back of the storeroom by the loading bay... lo and behold the port (thats left to you non nautical types) door had been unceremonially ripped off its hinges and was held on only by the top spring hinge.

So I reported said broken door and with the help of one of the guys in the next office started to remove the spring hinge before it caused any damage to the frame. As the door was moved upright it stopped blocking the light breeze that was pushing against it and at that moment mother Nature choose to puff a little harder knocking me sideways about a foot or two.

This would have been fine only i was stood on top of a ladder at the time and the foot or two left me stood on little more than thin air.... As you can imagine after a short discussion between myself, the laws of physics and gravity, i was returned to the ground in what can only be discribed as "A snotty heap"

I will no doubt be sorting an interesting bruise pattern by the weekend and my loading bay is now out of action until they replace said door.

I plan to phone the wife shortly and milk this incident for all it's worth.

So how was everyone elses afternoon?

Tarv fall down and go boom.

My day is sucking. I have cold, as do the kids, so we are all snotty messes. Roll on, naptime!

I agree. It is always the engineer's fault. But I applaud your "beavering away" if that implies what I think it does. Nothing is more enjoyable than an afternoon of beavering.

Mmmm. Beavers.

The word beaver seems to be a popular word this morning.

Been sick for the past couple of days. Got a parking ticket last night that I just filed an appeal online. Still feeling icky and want to go home.

Everyone knows that English sailors stay as far away from beaver as humanly possible.

We commend you for proving difinitivly gravity is still in effect! next time borrow a parachute from the RAF flyboys first just in case? or at least try to land on a passing leftenant.

Hope there was no permanent damage?

I found out I have three distinct, relatively benign conditions which combined to make me fell pretty crappy off and on for quite some time. Hopefully, now they'll be able to make me feel all spiffy.
