but never this.

Damn. Where did that come from? It's a shame it had to be shot. I can't believe they didn't have tranquillizers.

She was probably just menopausal, they did not need to shoot her. Oh wait, not that kind of cougar.

Shame that they had to shoot it. Well, I don't know that they "had" to -- guess it's just a shame that it was shot.

See; this is what happens when people don't listen to Bob Barker.
on the lighter side, I hear urbanized bears are become more common in the DC area.

Speaking of tigers, BBC's Iplayer is totally awesome. On BBC2, they're showing this new series where they put little spy cameras in the jungle, and film a group of tiger cubs growing up. It's made and commented by David Attenborough, so its pretty cool. So if you have an hour to spare, and are bored killing demented bears in Silverpine, you can watch this and go "ooh" and "aah" every 2 minutes.

And yeah, at some point the tiger cubs are being threatened by a cougar. I knew there was a link somewhere in there...

If they hadn't the evildoers might have captured it and used it as a weapon against us god-fearin' folk.

I heard two different reports about this today. One where the police said that the cougar was attacking them and so they had no choice but to shoot, and then another where and eyewitness said the cougar was trying to jump a fence while obviously wounded, so he called to the cops to tell them where it was and they asked him to go in while they shot it.

Later on a third report simply said CPD had "no time" to get a tranquillizer gun. Smiley: oyvey

We had a hostage situation awhile back that was big media. The police began taking over the neighboring houses.. the next door one happening to be friends of me and my mother.

the police shot their dog. because it wouldn't stop barking. These people were dog lovers.
It sucked for them... and the dog.

A few years back they found a full grown female cougar with 2 cubs in the wetland area outside vancouver Mall, about 2 miles from me. It was neat!
