Bondage entered popular culture in the Eighteenth Century with the Marquis de Sade's books. But he didn't invent anything, he just wrote about it and was, in many ways, a Youporn before his time. But these things have always existed, and always been popular. How old is the Kama-Sutra? What about all those greek plates and sculptures that painted gay sex between middle aged men and youngish boys?
I think the only thing that has changed is the media, the subject matter has always been there: every position, feet fetish, **** sex, zoophilia, scatophilia, it's existed since man existed. I'm sure if you go to some the Lescaux Caves, and look behind the dark corner, you'll find a painting of some guy giving oral sex to a Mammoth.
