I bet Paris Hilton feels better now.

Hah! Hoover's attempts to identify Kennedy remind me of one of the funnier scenes in Porky's... ;)

Think about for instance.. peasants back in the day.. They would have had no context for different sexual techniques, would they? Granted there is the physical pleasure of sex that makes it what it is... but you can get that phsyscal pleasure from a freakin' broom handle, no? A broom handle isn't going to pick you up and put one of your legs on top of the cabinet with the other one wrapped around a banister post and tie your wrists to the ceiling and drip hot wax on you while striking you with a sugarcoated cat-o-nine-tails.

The point is.. if one had never had the opportunity to know about certain things... there where is the line drawn between what is "hot" and what is "WTF are you doing?"

doubtless there were people who have had fetishes all throughout the history of man... but now that bondage and such things have become standard.. doesn't mean that these sexual expressions have always been seen as such.

Bondage entered popular culture in the Eighteenth Century with the Marquis de Sade's books. But he didn't invent anything, he just wrote about it and was, in many ways, a Youporn before his time. But these things have always existed, and always been popular. How old is the Kama-Sutra? What about all those greek plates and sculptures that painted gay sex between middle aged men and youngish boys?

I think the only thing that has changed is the media, the subject matter has always been there: every position, feet fetish, **** sex, zoophilia, scatophilia, it's existed since man existed. I'm sure if you go to some the Lescaux Caves, and look behind the dark corner, you'll find a painting of some guy giving oral sex to a Mammoth.

Smiley: laugh

I have seen some of the odd things that people with "mental challenges" can do.

My supposition is that today we live in pretty much a global world .... and back in the day all of these little microsocieties were around who didn't really contact anyone... I mean.. the Greeks had some sort of steam technology but that did not get beyond it's borders..

I would hardly think that it you went to the UK in the year 08AD and show a person the Kama Sutra sex.. I think they would be baffled and a bit astounded... I DO however think that a SMALL few would indeed "get it" while the rest would just say "what's wrong with just stick it in her pooper".

I suppose it is all about the social development of the appreciation of sexuality?

I beg to differ. I will disrobe in public at the drop of a dime and flaunt myself vigorously!

I would also bet the wide availablity of birth control has something to do with it. I would hypothesize that when you're able to have sex for pleasure without risk of pregnancy, you do it more often, and end up trying new things to keep it new and exciting.

Of course, thinking about it, one would expect that sans birth control, oral and **** sex might be more popular as well since there's no risk of pregnancy.

hmm....

Good point.

If you read Sartre, you find out that hardcore debauchery is nothing new. The stuff he wrote is worse than the girls and the cup, its proper hardcore sado-masochism. If anything is new, its the medium to distribute the content, not the content itself.

As for the pill, I don't know. Maybe. Maybe people "jumped out" just before. I don't buy the theory that sex was less promiscuous or less hardcore in the olden days. One of the primary purposes of early religion was to control people's sexuality. If they needed to control, it must've meant that there was a "problem". Just look at Sodom and Gomorrah.

I personally believe blowjobs hadn't been invented before pron. It's an entirely new phenom since the advent of the camera. Prior to that people just sat around and talked about how hot their farm livestock looked when tied to the stump. BT is actually a throwback to a more agrarian lifestyle.

Oh, and word on the street is that Marilyn Monroe was dying of, as Joph calls it, "face cancer" due to giving strange men BJs. HPV is a *****.

So it was Al who was servicing Billy Clinton under the desk in the Oval Office? Huh. Whodathunkit? Didn't he realize that making Bill's pants hot was contributing to global warming?

Would this be to say that it is in every humans nature to be a perv? and the only real difference is how well people cover it up? Although I can honestly say that being shat upon would NOT turn me on.

That's cheating. You're supposed to get that for your 80th birthday so you can check off what you did and see your score.

I'm just recommending it. There were a few months there when I managed to stay up past 10pm without conking out that I would switch to The History Channel, and voila! You wouldn't believe how kinky the Chinese were.
