just got back from the Drs. Zavi has strep and I've been warned there is a really good chance Ashe will get it in the next few days, since it's highly contagious. So I'll be cooped up for the next few days helping to alleviate the lil guys pains and illnessSmiley: frown

Craptastic, DSD. Hope you catch a lucky break and Ashe skips it. Sick kids, no fun at all.

Oh, sorry to hear that DSD.

Wint, you should provide insulin when you post pics of your kids. The little one looks so smug at being held by big sis.

Now comes the long-winded discussion of how *he's* using the word as opposed to how every medical practitioner in the world uses the term.

Welp, I was planning on going to the park today, and go garnet hunting tomorrow with the kids, but it looks like I get to play nurse instead. Xavier got really sick last night and is home from school today with a Drs appointment. Smiley: frown

I now have reason to visit the east coast! Garnets are cool!

Sorry to hear your kid is sick though. Sick kids are not fun.

My weekend plans will depend on which parts arrive. I decided the stock helicopter servo plate is wayy to flexible so i have a nice carbon fiber piece on order. That and i'm annoyed at my motherboard, so the new one with DDR3 ram should be here eventually.

Other than that, no plans. Enjoying being over most of my cold I guess.

Is it the one they're shooting at Jungle Java in downtown OB?

(I think I remember reading that you're from San Diego. If not, just another brain fart on my part.)

Our endless summer continues to roll on, so it will be a morning of surfing in the 21 degree (still havnt worn a wetsuit since christmas!!) water, while the dog sits and guards my stuff on the beach.

Then home to fart about in the garage and garden for the afternoon.

And then, because wifey and boy are in Australia for the week, I'll sit around playing LoTRO all night if I damn well feel like it.

I just found out that I've evidently had a free gym membership all year, so I'm taking Hannah swimming today!

How'd you get a free gym membership?

We pay 110 bucks a month for ours. Sheisters.

Well I'm a day late...but Friday was our little buy's 2-month doctor's visit. Thom is now 10lb8oz (birthweight of 5.5) and 23" long. He also got his first round of shots, during which mommy had to sit down and turn away with her face buried in her hands. So now she can't tease me about not watching the birth from the business end.

I interpret "strep throat" as faringitis estreptocócica, or "pharyngitis" in its English spelling. Do you know how long it takes to jump from person to person? Joph just had it, and I'm waiting for it to spread but no signs so far, thank God.

I spent at least a quarter of the weekend at the lab, getting 10 vials of blood drawn for various tests, and going through a 3-hour glucose tolerance test which left me with arms that resemble Courtney Love's in her heyday. To make myself feel better, I got my hair did and precious little else.

I'm off to work early today, as I refused to come in overnight and I have to catch my overnight weekend staffer for her annual review.

It's at the rec center on campus, and students pay a fee automatically that gives membership. However, all my fees are retracted since I work for the university, so I assumed I didn't have membership.

I shouldn't, at least, but hell if I'm not going to use it.
