Electric company came on during school hours. Whenever our 3rd grade teacher wanted some "peace and quiet" time(and a sip or two from that stainless flask she kept in her drawer) she would flip on the old telly.

After the "HEY YOU GUYS!!!, of which we were encouraged to shout, we just stared at the T.V. and kept quiet.

Where I lived they had a show (don't remember what it was called) that showed all the old black and white cartoons. Steamboat willie (mickey mouse), betty boop, etc. Those were always my favorites.

My favorite was Mr. Dressup on CBC. After that, we had one channel playing all three networks for most of my childhood. As a result, I didn't watch a ton. But I did like Superfriends, Fat Albert, Loony Toons, Little Rascals and stuff like that. It was pretty exciting when we finally got cable and I could watch TBS, but mostly, they were reruns of old television shows. Oh and the Muppets were always awesome.

Oh and I loved Mr. Rogers. My siblings used to make fun of me for it.

I never watched much tv when I was a kid, so my few memories are of shows I watched when I was 4 and 5. I watched a couple of shows when I was older, but I was almost always outside doing something...or reading...or playing on my SNES.

The only shows I remember were Power Rangers when I was a little older, and a few Canadian children's shows whose names I can barely remember that involved musicians. Shows like "Fred Penner's Place' or "Sharon, Lois, & Bram's Elephant Show".

I wasn't big on cartoons until I was about 18. Aside from Dexter's Lab & The Simpsons, I thought they were all dumb.

I remember Mr. Dressup. I watched that when I was a kid. Hell, I still have old VHS tapes that my mom would record of nothing but CBC children's shows with a few episodes on them. I should probably have those transferred to DVD so that when I have kids, they'll have good kid's shows to watch instead of the crap that they show on TV these days.

I watched enough He-Man, She-Ra, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Dungeons & Dragons, etc as a youth but can't say it was "good". I mean, I wouldn't want to watch an episode of He-Man today. I've seen it on the cable cartoon channels and it hasn't aged well.

The Real Ghostbusters was the first "smart" cartoon I remember watching. As in they incorporated things like Babylonian myth into the stories and it was well-written. I'd probably watch that show again.

Older than that, I dug Tennessee Tuxedo. As I mentioned back when he passed, between Tennessee Tuxedo, Get Smart & Inspector Gadget, I spent a significant portion of my youth listening to Don Adams in some form.

Hmm.. most of mine have been mentioned.
Those years of Robotech, Heathcliff, Voltron, Thundercats, He-Man and She-Ra..
That was around when we watched the Challenger explode. I was in 3rd grade.

Two that I haven't seen mentioned are The Littles and Tranzor Z.

Remember the "fake" Ghostbusters with the gorilla and the talking ghost car? Even as a kid I recognized it as an awful forgery... I still watched it though....
