Actually they made Johnny Numonic into a movie in the 90's.

Gotta be top 10 worst movies ever. I will admit I didnt realize it was a book I thought it was some horridly envisioned Shadowrun movie.

edit-- for underrated actors I would say Leonardo Dicaprio he made that stupid Titanic movie and I hated him for it but since then its like solid upon solid upon solid. The last flick I saw him in was Blood Diamond and withdrawn from the teenage (12-13 year old girl infatuation repulsion) even Titanic he did well in. Its like I am rediscovering that this guy can flat out act. Even though he has been getting millions a flick for awhile now. PS why the hell does Djimon Hounsou always live in every flick I have seen him in really Amistad, Gladiator, Blood Diamond let the fooker die once=P

Edit if you mean the other movies he isnt the main character either sorry if your panties get in a twist knowing that a supporting actor lives but hey some of us use boxers instead of panties try it, I find it much more relaxing but ymmv.

Blood diamond is **** anyway. I can't stand those stupid action films with "an ethical mesage". What a load of ********* It's just a normal, boring, poorly-written action film. No subtelties, the good guys are good and do good things, the bad guys are bad and do bad things, things explode, people get shot, but there's happy ending. So what, just because the bad guys are black "rebels" and the good guys' a journalist and a some **** who lived in the wrong village, then suddenly it's an "intelligent" film?

Anyone who knew abything about the diamond trade will have learnt nothing from that movie. And those that didn't will have learnt, once again, that it takes a white man/woman to solve a black man's problems.

If you're gonna make a crappy film with a cookie-cutter script filled with explosion, then have Bruce Willis and his buddies nuking an Earth-bound asteroid. At least it's honest with itself.

So yeah, blood diamond, not really worth it.

I can't believe you guys didn't mention Tom Cruise. Though maybe its because no one rates him anymore. Talk about someone playing himself. Tom Cruise only ever play Tom Cruise. Born on the 4th July was just a tad less eye-gouging then the rest I guess, but still, he's always a good reason not to go see a movie.
I have to disagree, not that he's a "Good" actor because i agree he only plays Tom Cruise

But If you want good action flick, generally Cruise delivers is "I don't want to think i just want to be entertained" way.

I certainly wouldn't put him in the Reeves, Christian & Goldblum school of utterly shite actors

I'd hit it. I have no idea why, but I'm drawn to him.

You all already knew I liked weirdos.

I'd throw George Clooney and Martin Sheen out there as decent actors (perhaps biased as I still find Apocolyspe Now to be one of the most gripping films I've ever seen). I loved Paul Newman in his time.

Hayden Christensen for Neuromancer? NO! NO! ...NO! NO!
NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

It's been done to death ever since, but Neuromancer was THE first cyberpunk sci-fi novel. I bet the film is going to look so generic and bland, because it's been done so many times "before".

Oh god.

Brad Pitt actually has done successfully what Johnny Depp also did: go half and half on the big bland blockbusters with interesting and well acted roles in small quirky independent/arthouse movies. I respect Pitt as an actor, as well as find him Smiley: drool2worthy.

Adam Sandler... yeah. But someone directed him in Punch Drunk Love (also a small arthouse flick) and it was GOOD! I really liked it. But it wasn't an "Adam Sandler movie".

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Will Smith.

While, sure, he's had questionable picks throughout his career, I think he gives his all in each of them.

I just recently saw a film he did in 1993, Six Degrees of Separation, and I was really impressed with the performance that he gave--so different from anything I've seen him in recently.

Talentless. If he was white, he'd be washing cars, staring in Oklahoma in dinner theater in Van Nuys.

I'm sure that George Lucas is talentless when it comes to directing actors. So many actors that have been good in previous films were lousy in the Star Wars prequels.

I think Lucas lucked out with the original Star Wars. Somehow they just work, as Space Opera.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Vinnie Barbarino. He remains the king of the same role over and over.

Edit: I mean John Travolta.

Disagree of course, the thing I liked most about this movie was the way it made you realize how utterly unimportant your beliefs can be and how quickly it can all be over.

My favorite moment was the guy who was reforming the young gang kids and had the successful school in doing the reformation gets shot. He gets stopped by like 3-4 kids and wants to talk to them about changing their ways and WHAM dead reformer all his work came down to **** with a kid who didnt care who had a gun. (of course I have now spoiled that moment but its not like anyone who hadnt seen it by now was going to anyways all we can get from them is smarmy comments)

Other memorable parts but I think that one affected me the most.

Hey, as long as Leo gets a bullet to the face then it's all good! Speaking of which, that's also the best thing about Devil's Advocate.

Yes, sadly, while I do appreciate the beautiful Ms. Neilsen (as well as Miss Theron) nothing beats watching Keanu "Whoa!" Reeves blow his own brains out.

Wasn't he supposed to retire after that hero flick? I seem to remember that being in all the previews, like it was the last chance you'd get to see him on film or something.

Actually, he was retiring from martial arts epics. Basically no more movies like "Hero" and "Fearless", which was the movie you are thinking of.

As to Neuromancer, it's been on my list of things to read for some time now and I haven't gotten around to it yet. I can see Hayden completely sucking in it though. The only movie he's been half decent in was "Life as a House", and the only reason he was any good in that was because he was basically playing himself in that role.

Right, then he made Tau Ming Chong and The Forbidden Kingdom pretty much instantly, two martial arts epics.
