How does this ******* block of wood continue to get work? Fine, ruin the mythos of my generation by turning Vader into a simpering *****. I can blame Lucas. Make all the disposable horror/sci fi bombs you want. Jumper? Awake? To cast him as, as, I can't even post it...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1037220/

Thanks for ******** on my soul, Hollywood.

I agree his performance(s) in Star Wars was some of the worst acting as I have seen. Ever.

And that includes school plays.

The bit where he's realising his mother is dead, and that he's turning over to the dark side. What a fUcking joke. Next time just stare at the camera and tell us what it says you're supposed to be feeling in the script. Now I'm angry, I'm slowly turning over to the dark side, oh, there it is, I'm evul now, alright, cool, grrrr."

In fairness, I thought the prequels were all, well, a bit ****. It had a lot to do with him, and Jar-jar, and the dialogue which I thought felt all wrong and awkward, and the the wholoe computer game thing.

But, mostly, it was this piece of ****.

ahhh!

AHHHH!!!

I don't feel so good. Holy crap, I can't believe I actually care, but that really bothers me...I love that book. I'm used to books being ruined when turned into films, but they could have given it a chance!

Mr. Tare and I cringed our way through the prequels too, mostly thanks to Mr. Christansen. I try to avoid his "work" now whenever possible.

Glad to see it's something I've never heard of. For a second I thought Lucas had revived The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones or something and cast him in it. I was about to cut someone.

William Gibson is one of my all-time favorite authors. It's a wonder it took them this long to actually make one of his books into a movie.

Actually they made Johnny Numonic into a movie in the 90's.

I never heard of that one. Agreed, his acting in the Star Wars flicks was horrible, but then so was everyone else's. I blame that on the director. Hell, even Sam Jackson looked awkward in his bits. I also consider Natalie Portman a pretty talented actress (granted I'm biased cause she's fookin hawt) and she was likewise horrible in those flicks.

I'm not telling you to get your hopes up, but there is a possibility.

Was Shia LaBeouf not available? What about Paul Walker?

****, normally I look at the movies made from the books I love with a glimmer of hope. All hope is lost on this one though.

Yeah, and he's normally such a fine, fine actor. It goes Brando, Penn, Depp, Jackson I always say.

I got to see Hayden Christiansen and director Doug Liman 2 months ago shamelessly pre-promoting their movie Jumper in a "panel discussion" about teleportation with 2 MIT Physics professors. He was about as expressive and interesting there as he is in his movies, although that didn't seem to dampen the enthusiasm of the freshman girls in attendance, one of whom asked him to go on a date with her friend during the Q&A session at the end.

The audience cheered loudly however when one of the professors quipped "If we could find a way to teleport Hayden across this room and he appeared at the other side dead, I would still consider the experiment to be a huge success."

If there was any justice, it would have been Cillian Murphy.

Well, there's the answer. Don't go see those movies.

Why reward them for making piles of **** out of your favorite books?

In other news Universal has optioned Ulysses and is remaking it as an Urban Comedy staring Ice Cube as Stephen Daedalus. Working title is "Are we still in Dublin?"

There have been a number of books that have translated into decent to good movies. I was saying that usually I'm optimistic about books translated into movies, but in this case, given Heyden Christansen's TERRIBLE acting, I find myself unable to have any optimism whatsoever.

Smash, will Chris Rock make an appearance in that one?

Indeed, more of a success than if he lived.

I'd think so. Someone has to play Buck Mulligan.

Didnt' the Coen Brothers already do this?

I agree with Kakar. The Star Wars prequels were so horribly scripted that no amount of acting would have mattered.

Another movie being released soon with a notoriously bad actor is The Forbidden Kingdom. Still, I've already set a date with my son to see it. It seems that 'poor acting' is part of Jackie Chan's notoriety - like he means to do it. Jet Li is always fun for the eyes though.

Wasn't he supposed to retire after that hero flick? I seem to remember that being in all the previews, like it was the last chance you'd get to see him on film or something.

And mostly agree with Smash's list (but not sure Penn would be as high)
