If you happened to use a torrent client, and accidentally searched "Terry Pratchetts The Colour Of Magic" (parts 1 and 2). .

. . . you might encounter this weekend's british HDTV production with a screenplay that was "Mucked about by Terry Pratchett" and with Sean Astin as TwoFlower, David Jason as Rincewind, Jeremy Irons as the Patrician and CHRISTOPHER LEE as the voice of DEATH.

I know it's unlikely that you'd do such a thing, but if you did, I suspect you'd be pretty pleased.

I was Smiley: grin

I liked it, but from the novels I always pictured Rincewind being taller and thinner. David Jason did do a great job though, didn't he claim he wanted to play Rincewind about 10 years ago or something?

Here's hoping they make another feature based on one of the City Watch books, Vimes is a classy character.

I found it sadly lacking that special something. :( The main humour that they were trying to generate was steadily run into the ground with cheesey lines and bad slapstick. Then again, it's difficult to capture something that is funny because of the way it is written, on screen.

I'd give it a 6/10 either way, here's hoping the next one (which i hear is Making Money) will be better.

Also they didn't use a real fUcking oranguatang. What a waste.

They picked a ****** book to convert really, the colour of magic being his first book is full of the most random sub plots and events that seem inane when converted to a screen. His newer stuff should convert much more easily.

I'd really like to see Witch's Abroad made into a film, its by far my favorite discworld book. However i'd be scared they would ruin it for me, the casting would have to be just right to make it work.

I agree that Hogfather benefitted from Pratchett being more comfotable and 'settled into' the characters and settings, but it was pretty good considering it's based on the two weakest discworld novels.

Please let them make "Guards Guards" (I thought Nobby Nobbs was pretty good in Hogfather)

If they do make the witch ones, they have to cast Liz Smith as Granny Weatherwax or Nanny Ogg.

She looks perfect for Nanny.

I once woke up during an Alloa Athletic match. As I recall, both teams lost.
