And to mark the occasion of 5 years of the occupation of Iraq, I would like to bring you this quote from D1ck Cheney, that illustrates the depth of his concern for the worries and fears that the American people have over the war without end that is being fought and paid for in their name.......

Quote:
Q Let me go back to the Americans. Two-thirds of Americans say it's not worth fighting, and they're looking at the value gain versus the cost in American lives, certainly, and Iraqi lives.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: So?

Q So -- you don't care what the American people think?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: No, I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls.

/golf clap. Nice one D1ck.

Or are we still all debating the merits of some reverand or other, pointing out that every action has an opposite re-action, wether that is in the field of physics or indeed foreign policy?

I actually know a guy who died in Iraq over the weekend. He dated my sister for awhile in high school and again later on while she was in college.

He had previously served in Afghanistan with the National Guard, but kinda got sent home. He was on patrol and was ordered to throw grenades at some guys loading weapons in a truck. Afterwards, he decided not to go out on patrol anymore as he really didn't like killing people very much. He was sent to Germany for awhile, then back home.

He got back into the National Guards Nursing and was on his 2nd tour as a medic when a roadside bomb killed him and two others.

Link.

DJ was a pretty cool guy. He died helping people, which is why he signed up for the Guard in the first place.

Too bad while 2/3rds of people seem to be opposed to the War, it hasn't been on anyone's "Too Do List" and is usually the 3rd or 4th story on the news.

Sorry to hear it. It's a bloody shame to have lost 4000 soldiers in this war.

Not to mention the civilian casualties.

**** Cheney has finally given up the pretense that he was in this war for any other reason than his own opinion. I can't FATHOM that we kept Bush in office for as long as we did, but impeached Clinton. Smiley: disappointed
