Soldier in picture of Abu Ghraib torture blames media for insurgency

Quote:
"I guess after the picture came out the insurgency picked up and Iraqis attacked the Americans and the British and they attacked in return and they were just killing each other. I felt bad about it ... no, I felt pissed off. If the media hadn't exposed the pictures to that extent, then thousands of lives would have been saved," she was quoted as saying.

"Sure, I was in the pictures, and I was torturing the people, but those damn paparazzi just had to publish the photos. Grrr, I'm so mad that they released those incriminating photos. All their fault."

Sound quite ludicrous, if you ask me.

It's on April 18. Our first paying gig. Hopefully, all will go smoothly. It's tough having a 16 year old drummer, but he is damn good.

We record a demo this weekend, which is cool.

This is so wonderful! Hope you enjoy yourselves, hope they like the music.

Do you have any music of yours I can buy online?

Once we record the demo, we will be more than likely purchasing 1000 CDs to sell. We will have the songs on our Myspace, and we will be selling them from there, more than likely.

It's hard rock, with 2 male vocalists singing and me screaming some as well.

Christian hard-rock?

Man, I just don't recognise this world anymore.

Someone hold me

Do you guys hold duels with death metal bands? Would you share a stage with Impaled Nazarene, or another Satanic death metal band? Is there a whole rivalry between the "good" and "evil" side, like Blur and Oasis?

And finally, if a member of Disembowelment were to slap your *** with a leather glove, would you respond in kind, or would you just turn the other cheek?

Yeah, this gig we're doing on the 18th. I think we're the only Christian rock group on the docket.

Other bands include: Foreplay, Dynamite Expelle, Suffocate the Creep

As far as the *** slapping, can I do both? Smiley: sly

So yesterday while I was watching As the World Turns (which will be preempted for the next few days by the NCAA Tourney) a commercial for this Christian power ballad CD came on. I was struck by how often I see this particular advertisement, seeing as how I just don't watch that much television. I gather that it must be a fairly lucrative product for Time Life.

What I was really impressed with, though, was the way the performers were blatantly exploiting Christ to line their pockets. The songs themselves were uninspired, cliche-filled pieces of sh*t performed by untalented snake-oil salesmen. The images of the crowds at the concerts were full of dead-eyed followers swaying to-and-fro and mouthing lyrics like self-righteous zombies.

I guess what I'm getting at is: Nice job, Duodenum. I respect you for realizing that with your lack of anything resembling talent, your best bet was to ride Christ all the way to the bank.
