OK,
So I am probably not the only person watching this. After last Thursday's show though, I was kinda upset. Reason: BreakSk8 is now out of the runnings. Crushed my heart too. Us people from Indiana gotta stick together (plus I've seen them skate IRL).
Here's the issue I had with how they treated them (and some of the other crews too): You give them a whack (yes I said whack) song and then expect some big performance from them, or you give them a song that was not designed for them, then criticize them when it is not a good performance. Last thursday was a prime example. For the challenge, each crew had to take a broadway show, incorporate a piece of the show into their routine and make it their own. OK - very cool. One group got Chicago, another group got Grease, another got Hairspray - all very good selections for no matter who got them. Then they come to BreakSk8 - and they give them what? Dreamgirls..... <.< A group of 5 guys has to do a broadway show designed for all girls - yeah - that's fair alright.
It's like the show just hated them. I mean, they even had to sake to "Cupid Shuffle" - COME ON!!! Even not on skates, there isn't much you can do with the song. I still think the best performances were from the Thriller album night. Status Quo's was ehhh, but it wasn't bad.
I don't think this is the only show show that seems to want to hate people. Even the famed..... American Idol....... seems as though they vote off more good people than bad. I think it's nice that these shows are giving you and I the chance to say who is our favoirite, but there are plenty of people who will just keep the horrible people in there - just for kicks.
Maybe the old school way of judging should be brought back.
