He's potentially facing suspension after "stomping" on Kesler the other night but I can see him getting a slap on the wrist, despite the 30 game suspension that Simon took earlier this year for virtually the same thing. The NHL can't have their most prestigious defenceman out for too long, now can they?

Here's the incident:

I can't say it's a malicious stomp but there's something in it. He needs anger management, man.

WTB more angles.

Guy goes down, almost looks like a leg lock, it looks like an intentional stop but quickly goes into it looking like him falling over himself trying to get off the guy and back into play.

An intentional stomp with a skate, even if no injuries result should see a slap since that type of dirt has to potential to cause some serious harm and should at all times be highly discouraged.

What will happen, I put my money on both players getting suspended, creating an all male figure skating duo and then one dying from a poorly executed Iron Lotus. Followed by a public outcry for skates with nerf foam edges.

I've hated Chris Pronger ever since he was with the Blues. I say they slap him with 20 games and a fine.

Looks like it's 8 games.

Stupid. He should have got exactly what Simon got. He's no less a thug.

RACK violence in sports. At its core, isn't that why we all watch sporting events? To see primal behavior surface or death and destruction? I know I do. Watching men burn inside their cars after a horrible wreck is the only reason to watch NASCAR. Anticipating Tom Brady getting speared in the back is a fine motivator for a Sunday of football watching. And seeing Roger Clemens go nuts and throw a broken bat at Mike Piazza from 'roid rage is enough to keep me glued to the set for hours.

Tell the truth, wouldn't you pay good money to see Phil Mickleson bury his 9 iron in Tiger's skull after watching him sink a birdy chip to win another golf championship? It'd be like the Roman coliseum, only in digital and with ESPN doing commentary.

This kind of action is inexcusable. As a hockey player I know how sharp hockey skates are, and intentionally using them as a weapon deserves a harsher penalty then 8 games in my opinion. Doing something like this should of had him sitting until next season, doesn't matter if its Pronger or anyone else.

Shouldn't you be watching Ice Castles or something, Tidus? Hockey is a blood sport. Instead of worrying about a skate's razor sharp edges, you should be wondering why they haven't welded on twirling ankle gougers, ala Ben Hur.

funny how simon gets 30 games, and pronger gets only 8 for the same incident. i love how pronger will miss the rest of the regular season and come back for one game which will be like a tune-up game for the playoffs.
