The frightening thing is that there are stories about that sort of thing. Smiley: sly

Those chocolate covered cookies with the peanut butter are just too addicting to me. I have to run past their table otherwise I buy 4 boxes.

Caramel Delites = Samoas Smiley: nod

Delicious. They changed the name (I hear) because it was "racist" against Samoans.

My mother always purchased the Trefoils when a green sash came around. I devoured them indulgently while secretly hating myself for support an organization I believed in direct opposition to my own.

Peanut Butter Patties, unfortunately I've not seen hide nor hair of a girl scout the past 2 years.

Nope. There are two different girl scout bakeries. One calls them Samoas, the other Caramel Delights. One calls the peanut butter ones Tagalongs, and one calls them Peanut Butter Patties. It just depends one where your girl scout council ordered them from this year. It changes here from year to year, since our council is pretty good about getting a quote and making them compete every year, haha.

I read that many a person, in this area anyway, complained about the quality of the cookies this year and the new company tasked with making GG cookies will likely not be used again next year. Quality was so bad I only scarfed down 3 boxes myself this year.

=)

Definitely the Thin Mints. And once you start a box, forgetaboutit, you may as well concede that you'll finish off the whole thing.

Back when my mom was a GS leader, she would make sure she order an extra case of Thin Mints just for us. We would have to tell costumers how the Thin Mints were sold out, but there were plenty of Trefoils left.

I would live on Thin Mints if I could, but thankfully they are only around for a short time each year.

My youngest already has called just to tease me about how she had bought 2 boxes of Thin Mints. All I could think of at the time, was how one couldn't live on just 2 boxes. I need at least 4 boxes, so there will be some for the rest of the family.

If they are lucky, I'll share half a box with the 3 of them.

I just ate four samoas that a coworker gave me. I felt guilty, so I followed it up with an ice cream sunday.

I buy an extra box of thin mints and freeze them.

The problem is, they're even better frozen.

I'm (slightly) amazed that out of the 17+ of us who have voted for Thin Mints, you're the only other person who admits to doing this. Smiley: laugh

Yes, I freeze them too. Partly because they're better frozen, and partly because if you store them in a cabinet and it hits 80 degrees or higher in the house, they all melt together. Smiley: glare

I freeze my thin mints as well. When my wife brought home the latest batch, the first thing I did was throw the Thin Mints in the freezer. Then I sat there like a junkie in withdrawal waiting for them to freeze.
