Got this in my email box today, had no attachments so i had a look
Quote:
Hi,
I sincerely hope that this letter will not come to you as a surprise or an embarrassment since we neither knew each other before nor had any neither previous correspondence nor contact.

Do accept my sincere apologies if my mail does not meet your personal ethics although, I wish to use this medium to get in touch with you first because it's fastest means.

I believe it will be a surprise to you as we have never met before, and I am deeply sorry if I have in any manner disturbed your privacy.

Please forgive this unusual manner of contacting you. Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Dr. Christopher C. Marshall; I was into currency exchange business, a British national from United Kingdom.

I have been diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer. It has defied all forms of medical treatment, and right now I have only about a few month! s to live, according to medical experts. I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone (not even myself) but my business. Though I am very rich, I was never generous, I was always hostile to people and only focused on my business as that was the only thing I cared for.

But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world. I believe when God gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my life a different way from how I have lived it.

Now that God has called me, I have willed and given most of my property and assets to my immediate and extended family members as well as a few close friends.I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul so, I have decided to give alms to charity organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, Somalia and Malaysia.

Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself anymore. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria and Pakistan; they refused and kept the money to themselves.

Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have left for them. The last of my money which no one knows of is the huge cash deposit of Two Million dollars ($2,000,000.00) that I have with financial institution abroad.

I will want you to help me collect this deposit and dispatch it to charity organizations. Please kindly note that upon the receipt of these funds from the financial institution abroad, you shall invest it in your line of business and dispatch the profit to charitable home.

As soon as i receive your response, I shall communicate with you, and let you know the details of the transfer. Whatever your actions and your decision, I thank you for taking the time to read this email.

Regards,
Dr. Christopher C. Marshall

For a doctor, he seems to have an excellent grasp of grammar. =)

Seems ineffective, as I stopped reading after the third sentence.

I had a guy on the subway use the same line, can you spare any change I have cancer, the bottle of wild turkey in a brown bag made me a might suspicious though. Can you even drink Wild Turkey while on chemo? I would have asked for a doctors note, but I avoid pissing off panhandlers, so I choose to ignore him.

This site is run by a guy that scams the scammers. His aim is to waste as much of their time and money as he possibly can by leading them on with promises of finances that never quite appear.

Some of his baitings take months and months and result in some painfully comic moments. He often manages to get the scammer to send him pictures of themselves and occasionally even scams money from the scammers.

If you've got time to spare, its worth reading a couple of the stories he's got posted just for the cringeworthy lengths that he will go to waste a scammers time and resources.

Below is an example of a 'proof of identity photo', that he usually insists upon......

Well it would have been if the site wasn't so broke......

I've been getting scam emails from someone through match.com (and pretty much the only emails I've been getting). The grammar is horrendous... not really even a grammar problem, as much as an English one. This is the latest.

Quote:
Dear (name)! This week there is a new theme for considerings, and these
new ideas excite me. I do not know as you (name), but for me starts to
have importance our exchange e-mail. These are new emotions in my
quiet heart. For me it is not usual, to get acquainted with the man on
e-mail, for many miles from me and it is possible to have relations. I
did not inform you earlier (name) the address because it is not enough
knew you. I live in average area of Russia, in city Kilemary. To
regret it is far from you, differently it was not necessary for us
much e-mail, to find out each other. We could meet, talk, to spend
some time together and it is quite good to find out each other. But
for us it will be not a fast way. But I hope, that it will not be
problem for us if we shall decide to make it in the future. I already
made some travel to other countries. I travelled, as the tourist, to
Europe (it is Turkey, Italy, Germany). Therefore (name) , you should
not have excitements of that is present distance between us. I such
woman, that if I shall like the person for a meeting with him, I shall
reach even on the moon. In our days is not a problem to make such
travel. I not I worry about it and even I have devoted feelings,
having got acquainted with The person on the other hand. For me it is
very interesting feelings- To find out the person with other culture,
thinking, traditions. It One of things - which draws me to you. Not
the main thing,- But new and interesting. Probably if our relations
will be strong and you (name), you can find out the mysterious Russian
woman. I hope, that for you it is interesting to find out and test
love of such woman? I I think, road (name) That you cannot resist to
mine for a long time female magic, If happen so, that we shall be the
person to To the person. On it I finish my message to you (name). I
wait for your messages. Yours Anzhela.

I keep responding because they amuse me, and are my only consolation for the waste of money that you would expect match.com to be. I've gotten five emails so far. The funny part is that the person's profile claimed that they were a literature teacher in TN.
