I could look this up, but fUck it, it's slow around here and someone might know off the top of their head.

I heard from a colleague that the $600 gubberment checks coming out in June only apply to those making under 60k a year? Can anyone confirm/deny this?

It sounds like he was correct, but just off on the figure.

CNN wrote:
Sources on Capitol Hill and at the Treasury Department said the plan would send checks of $600 to individuals and $1,200 to couples who paid income tax and who filed jointly.

People who did not pay federal income taxes but who had earned income of more than $3,000 would get checks of $300 per individual or $600 per couple.

A Democratic aide and Republican aide said there will be an additional amount per child, which could be in the neighborhood of $300.

Those who earn up to $75,000 individually or up to $150,000 as a couple will be eligible for the payments, said Republican and Democratic sources familiar with the tentative deal.

I'm gathering from this that if you made over 75k or 150k if filing jointly, then you won't get it. I haven't yet found any other sources specifying limitations.

Bush says

When terrorists attack....go shopping!

When the economy is in the toilet....Go shopping!

At least the idiot is consistant.

And it least he finally admitted the economy is in a slump. Of course, everyone in the country already knew that, but I guess someone has to be last.
