Drunk man on riding lawnmower leads officers on low-speed chase

04:18 PM PST on Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Associated Press

VANCOUVER, WA. -- Authorities in Vancouver are deciding whether the driver of a riding lawnmower can be charged with drunken driving.

The 53-year-old man was arrested Monday after leading police on a 3 mph chase. Police say he cursed a neighbor, drove the mower through a fence gate and smashed a window with a lawn chair.

Police say he even drove the mower toward an officer. The officer stepped out of the way and pulled the man off the mower to arrest him

One of these days I'll be redneck enough to take a riding mower through the drive thru.

uck that. When I'm 60 I aspire to be the drunk old man who sits on his porch with a shotgun, yelling at kids to get the hell off my lawn.

I'll order delivery.

The irony is realized when the delivery boy is one of those very same young kids you threatened with a shotgun to get the hell off your lawn.

You are only allowed on the lawn if you are bringing pizza, beer or more ammo, can't you read the sign.
