UFC 82 PredictionsFollow

MMA whiners need not read this thread. :P Anyway, I thought I'd start a thing where we make predictions for each UFC. I wish I could post this in OOT but well, heh, I can't.

Ok so here's the fight card:

Anderson Silva (20-4) vs. Dan Henderson (22-6)

Main card:

Cheick Kongo (11-3-1) vs. Heath Herring (27-13)
Alessio Sakara (12-6) vs. Chris Leben (17-4)
Evan Tanner (32-6) vs. Yushin Okami (21-4)
Jon Fitch (15-2) vs. Chris Wilson (13-3)

I think Anderson Silva will come out with a big win again, though I've only seen Henderson fight twice so maybe I just don't know how good he is. He's been really classy in all his wins though, so I want him to win. My other picks are Cheick Kongo cause Heath Herring sux, Sakara because I can't stand Chris Leben, Okami and Fitch for the last two.

I saw Arlovski is fighting on the undercard. Have you guys seen a recent pic of him all clean shaven? He's pretty unrecognizable. And hawt too!

Well, here are the lines on those fights from Bodog.

I think UFC have Silva hyped to fuck. He's beatable alright. For reference, Henderson fought Big Nog (the man who awarded Silva his Black belt in Jiu Jitsu and is on average 60 pounds heavier then Anderson) twice, winning once, losing the second time, though it wasn't until well into the final round (10 min first round in Pride remember) that he got armbarred. He's also made leaps and bounds in his wrestling/grappling/striking since then. I'd be very surprised if Silva could do anything if Dan grounded him.

And don't underestimate his last fight with Rampage. It was very close (though I would have given it to Rampage as well), Rampage is heavier then Silva and ahead of him on most Pound for Pound lists worth mentioning. Dan also destroyed Ryo Chonan in 22 seconds (the man who infamously heel hooked Silva after keeping up with him with striking for almost the full 20 minutes) and he knocked out Wanderlei Silva, something Chuck Liddell couldn't accomplish in their fight (taking nothing away from the man, that is)

So, you've probably guessed who I'm rooting for :p but I'll come right back here and eat my words if Hendo doesn't pull off a win.

For what it's worth,

Herring beats Kongo - Let's not forget Herring gave Fedor a run for his money way back when, and couldn't be finished by the Big man last time they fought, either. I know Kongo bet Cro Cop, but that fight was kinda sux, and I still think he's got something to prove.

I'm thinking Leben beats Sakara, Okami and Fitch win as well, though I couldn't give a rats *** about those, to be perfectly honest, not with Hendo on the card.

Ummmm, I pick Gorgeous George or Rick Flair, because these UFC fights are about as real as WWF matches.

Go watch some of the bloodier fights and come back and say they're fake. The most recent gush fest that comes to mind was BJ Penn's fight last month against Joe Stevenson.

Some of the cuts they show are just so frickin' NASTY. I forget who it was, but there was some guy who threw in the towel cause you could basically see his skull through the cut and his corner gave him shit about it. Anyone remember who that was?

Agreed that I'd rather see Arlovski or Sanchez fight than Okami. Though.. those two have had some rather boring fights recently.
