Soccer is for sissiesFollow

Except when stuff like this happens:

Double fracture of the tibia. In the last pic, his foot in still in his shoe. The bit hanging out is his ankle.

I was watching the game live this Saturday morning, and it wasn't even that bad of a tackle. Pretty inocuous for Premier League standards.

The real tragedy in all this, of course, is that my beloved ******* have now lost one of their top strikers for the rest of the season. If not more. Not only that, but we drew this game because the players had somewhat lost their appetite after seeing their teammate hacked to bits. A win would've put us 5 points clear at the top with 11 games to go...

Sissies.

I agree. We were all disappointed that Eduardo didn't jump back up, hop over to that Taylor guy, and karate-kick him back in the shins.

But he's brazilian, so what can you expect... sissy Smiley: disappointed

That's a career-ending injury, there. Quite a shame that out of fear of being called a sissy, that man won't let it heal for the appropriate time before he tries to weight-bear.

Nah he'll be out for 12 months or so but it's far from career ending.

Most Football career enders are joint damage rather than bone breaks.

I've been told that tendon injuries often take much longer and are chancier to heal up properly than bone breaks.

But I've never seen such a spectacular bone break.

Also: I hope one or both of those bones isn't usually under torsion naturally, because those bones can bee utter buggers to heal up properly.

I'm betting there's some tendon involvement here as well. Be a damn miracle if there isn't.

All part of the game, walk it off, no need for retribution lads, thats why the good lord gave you two of 'em. Now hop on over to the mark so we can start the scrum down, no need for slacking.

For the record, the pics with those guys getting kicked in the nuggets are much funnier than these.

Now, if that dude in blue would have made contact with the ball, would that still have been a red card?

Saw this on another forum a bit back, though not as visibly painful it still had to hurt like a *****.

My personal view is that it was a late tackle that was 90% mistake and 10% recklessness.

Given the injury, and the british crowds' appetite for villainy, he'd still have been red-carded if he'd made contact with the ball.

I'm pleased that the ******* Manager has now retracted his initial demand that Taylor "Should never be allowed to play again".

The injury was horrendous, but we see far more reckless tackless most weekends.

Don't let him fool you. His face just looks like that because he's Asian. If you look closely, he's actually smiling. He thinks it's funny because he knows kung fu.

They're wrong.

As a premiership player, his career is fUcked.

There's no way. I had an employee in a car accident who twisted her ankle and rushed to get back on her feet so she could come back to work. 1.25 years and 2 surgeries later, she's still limping and not cleared to come back to work, and all our job involves is walking.

If he takes care and follows his doctor's orders to the letter, maybe he can walk around the field, maybe even a jog, but another kick to the ankle and he'd be done.

I once had a bad tibia fracture from soccer, although it certainly looked nothing like that. Smiley: lol
