Are you inferring you knew something Smash didn't? 'Cuz I don't know if that's possible.

Only if it's about female matters...he gives me that much. I'm permitted to talk with expertise about mothering, breastfeeding, giving birth, and fallopian tubes.

Girls have it so good. They get cool names for their bits like "fallopian tubes" while us guys get German mathematical sounding names like "vas deferens." It's sooo unfair.

Speaking of DIY, Joph and I are doing a bit of an appliance overhaul. I'm getting one of these and one of these, and in return, Joph is out picking up one of these. I have no idea how to install any of them.

We have the same TV.

The first set we had died after a month, had to haul it back to the store to exchange it.

Both of the sets do this thing: on some HD channels/shows, it will display a single line of scrambled, flickering pixels at the very top of the screen. I can't figure out how to make it go away.

I'll second the warning on the westinghouse TVs. They really are crapily put together. For that large of an investment I would definitly reccommend spending the extra $200 or so and going with a comperable Samsung model would be definitly worthwhile.

As for installing, you'll want a wall mount bracket (you can find them locally or use http://www.mountsandmore.com then if you realy want to get fancy, get long video cables, run them through the wall to your suround sound equipment and cable box, or compuer equipment too if you want to tie that in. Good source of cheap long video cables is NWCA.com.

If possible, run HDMI video cables and Toslink fiberoptic audio cables for best quality.

Well, here's hoping. Most reviews I read for it were favorable and the price was right ($730) so we decided to take the chance on it. I've the receipt and all that just in case.

Haven't tried it in High Def yet though since we need to order that from the satellite folks.

At first I had thought the title to this thread was "DUI question". All that ran through my mind was "Nexa nooooooooooooooooooo!"

Thanks for the tip. Attached Flea's laptop and downloaded high def videos from Microsoft. Looks beautiful.

Enough so that Flea is now all about paying the extra $10 a month for the high def satellite channels.

I don't see any issues with it. I'm not saying folks haven't had them, but it seemed like a good deal and I don't really have any brand loyalty when it comes to electronics. I like stuff that's on sale and that works. For a 42", you can't beat the price.

You don't really need a primer. Just get a bathroom paint. There are paints specifically designed to be used in bathrooms, so they keep the water from soaking in in the first place. Any hardware store should be able to recommend something, although, actually going to a paint dealer would be better.
