This isn't even new. I knew kids in my high school 13 years ago doing this.

I thought they were morons thens, I think they are morons now.

I heard about that at least 5-6 years ago, when one of my mates' younger brother told us how they did it in school. They didn't use anything special though, just a good old hand-choke.

See. That's the problem though. Drugs are getting harder to get. Used to be, whippets were cheap and easily obtained. Nowadays? Not so much. Same thing with huffing paint/glue/etc...

War on drugs dontyouknow.

We used to do this when I was maybe 9 or 11 or 24.

And we'd videotape our bizarre spasms. I remember one time, Ben evacuated his bladder and we all had a really great laugh.

What the fuCk is so bad about smoking a soda-bottle bong with your buddies in the woods after school when choking each other to death is the alternative?

That was my point. In our efforts to "protect our kids" from such evil things like weed, we've left them fewer "safe" options to get high and otherwise have fun. Thus, they turn to incredibly stupid things like choking each other in order to get a buzz...

I was actually going to mention whippets too, they're an obviously safer alternative, though I don't remember them (whipped cream canisters) being hard to get in high school when I was generally making stupid decisions. I wouldn't condone whippets, but it certainly is far superior to choking your friends for a high, FFS.

As an aside, as for drugs in general, I actually work in the addictions field as a counselor, and it's interesting to see the demographics of whom is addicted to what. With all honesty though, from what I have seen weed is far less harmful and addictive than alcohol, and the rate of people I see that have ruined their lives due to alcohol addiction versus pot addiction is...well...large. (Of course, this coincides with knowledge I already had regarding that). One of the major pitfalls of weed that I have noticed is that in can be insidiously psychologically addictive- and therefore can be extremely difficult to recover from; and more often than not the catalyst for recovery seems to stem from trouble with the law or work, due to obvious reasons. However, the people that do have problems with pot are also usually the most fun to work with, because they are so incredibly educated and informed on why pot isn't all that bad. It makes for some interesting and fun discussions in my intervention group. :P

I'd rather see the day where pot is legalized, so people have a safer, less addictive and legal alternative to booze to relax and have fun. That's just me, though; and unfortunately I doubt it will ever happen, so I'm not holding my breath.
