I forgot to mention that parts of this movie got filmed in my hometown of Hilo. I don't know what, but I vaguely remember they were doing jungle scenes or something out in the bushes. My cousin was telling me this story about how this one dumb uppity restaurant got called by the crew, asking if they would stay open for them to come by and eat and the dumbasses actually declined!! What idiots say no to a pack of celebrities coming to eat at their restaurant? Smiley: oyvey

I <3 the Indy movies. I just hope that if there is a romantic interest for the adventuresome star that she's not 35 years his junior.

So the Holy Grail only works in that cave? That one cave? Its powers are limited by geographical constraints due to statutory regulations? And how do you know all this?

It was explained in the movie you schlub. Are you one of those people that when you go to a movie you have to have whoever is with you explain it as it goes along?

Karen Allen, aka "Marion Ravenwood" from Raiders of the Lost Ark has second billing on the IMDB site. So there's hope!

My son got an Indiana Jones Legos set for his birthday. He thought they were Star Wars.

No point to this, just padding.

I can't wait for this movie to come out. I love all the Indiana Jones movies. I loved that Sean Connery played his dad in The Last Crusade. Also, it comes out on my birthday so my husband and I will be going to see it.

Oh yes! Marion's back!

I had such a crush on Karen Allen.

It was just the Grail itself couldn't leave the temple. When they took it past the seal, it started to collapse. But Indy and the girl both tried to retrieve it anyway. Would it have still worked if they brought it outside?

And it seemed that drinking from it healed and rejuvenated them, rather than making them permanently immortal. You'd have to drink from it regularly to stay young. The impression that I got.

Why am I debating the religious lore of an action film?

Yeah the old guy says something like "But the grail cannot pass the great seal. That is the boundary and the price of immortality."

trickybeck explained the way I interpreted it as well. It doesn't seem to prevent ageing (as seen by the ancient knight) but staves off death a little longer.

Huh, something we finally agree on. Putting on bling and nailing Skeletor forced me to place him in the John Travolta the Airline Captain Wannabe catagory of actors: The man has no clue what a douchebag he is.

A little longer as in a thousand years? Unless the knight was from the XIXth Century and on his way to a fancy dress party.

I hate her. She's right up there with that ***** from the Superman movies, both obnoxious as all ****.

What? No, you must be thinking of Temple of Doom and Kate "I'm married to the director" Capshaw. She was the screaming ninny.

Yeah, like Nicholas Flamel and the Elixir of Life created from the Sorcerer's Stone.

I would rather be stuck watching Kate Capshaw (who I always used to confuse with Kim Catrall when I was a kid...probably because of Big Trouble in Little China) than watching Karen Allen. I find her absurdly grating...I don't know why.

Wasn't Karen Allen in Scrooged? I thought she was the only Indy heroine who was enough of a scrapper for him, but never that she was particularly good-looking. Best I could say was "impish". She was very cute when she smiled, but she hasn't aged well.

Also Debalic, here ya go. A NWS treat for ya.

She looks fine in any photo where the focus is taken away from her face.

Funny story, I remember Harrison Ford was on some talk show once right after he got his earring and the host asked him "so, what are you gonna say if your son asks to have his ear pierced now since dad has it?"

Ford: "I'll tell him absolutely....when he's 58 like me"

Meshugana, we should look so good at that age. She does not look bad at all for 57 years old and Ford is 66 years old.
