Nope. The shooter has been identified as a former NIU graduate student. He attended NIU in Spring 2007, and was currently enrolled as a student at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.


Yeah, it turned out not to be him.

One final update: classes are scheduled to resume a week from today (25th). All classes held in the building where the shooting occurred have been relocated for the remainder of the semester. They also pushed back the graduation date a week to accommodate for the week we're missing now.

Ah, we have the motive.

It was all an elaborate ruse to get someone a few extra days on that paper that was due the day after.
