So, I have been adding music to my external hard drive from CD all week. And I have been lovin' some of the ol' album covers.

You can't beat Sgt. Pepper's for general ambiguity and rampant rumor generation.

NWS! Ween crack me up.

And this album cover has always kinda intrigued me.

So, what are some of your fav all time album covers?

Not a big album guy, haven't owned a record ever or a CD in years but out of the few that I have had...

There are more but I don't have them loaded in my User Image thing.

I've always liked this NOFX cover.

This one is cute, and I have a weakness for old Iron Maiden album covers.

In terms of cheesiness, you just can't beat old french pop.

Or new french pop, for that matter.

My favorite album, Tool's Lateralus, has a cool but a bit subdued cover, whereas the inside has some awesome artwork.

Here is another one that I really like.

The ever-inspiring Dark Side of the Moon cover.

Ah, what the heck, I love Tool's 10,000 Days cover art, too. ;)

I like a wide variety of music, but Tool's always just sticks out for me. :)

When I was 13, I spent hours trying to decipher the hidden mysteries in this.

Another good one from them.

I inherited this album from my parents' collection and framed it.

I remember playing with this one when I was a kid, because it had a real, working zipper. Good thing there wasn't really anything to that bulge, or I may not have grown up to be the swollen gland of masculinity I am today.

Haha, I have Sticky Fingers up in my room, that zipper is definitely one of the greatest things to be put on an album cover.

The greatest overall album "package" has to be, without a doubt, Thick As A Brick. Indulgent as it is, it's still classic.

It has an ISBN number and everything! so it counts! I wish I had a better picture online. It actually turned out pretty nice I think.

I could go on forever on this subject, as I sell and make many of the art materials, used in the many forms of L.P./C.D./Poster-Art still used today. Of which a fair number of survivng record labels still use, like Sub PoP, BloodShot, and Lost Highway to name a few.

Here are some of my current favorite artists that still make real album art:

THE BIRD MACHINE.

Wes Freed.

MMM.

And a few album favorites that pop into my mind for the moment:

Inspired the Everly Brothers and later the Reverend Horton Heat:

I googled bad religion covers, as I was going to post the album cover to "Suffer", but this popped up:

And I just couldn't bring myself to not post it.

Oh, and here's a NSFW link to just about all of GG Allin's album covers.

Smiley: lol

I worked at a record store for a few years during university and this record cover always made me giggle. It should be titled Gino Vanelli, It Happens to Lots of Guys.
