The Illinois primary ballot with his name on it said "Republican" on the top.

It'll be hard to tell about McCain. Either he will speak to the voters disenchanted with the republican party as it is now and find an outsider, probably a southern governor without any national experience or he'll want to appease the current administrators and guard of the republican party. My guess it will be the latter and he'll find someone affiliated with Bush. McCain has always gone back and forth between criticizing Bush and trying to ingratiate himself with them when he thinks he needs to fall along party lines. It's interesting that there has been talk of Cheney being his VP, which would be scary.

When did saying a presidential candidates full name become a sign of racism?

You may not like the reality that Obama's natural father was a radical muslim, but again that doesn't change the facts.

Tell me when Obama converted to Christianity again? It's on his website.

Uncomfortable questions for those who actually believe Obama has strong islamic roots. Let's just accuse anyone who mentions his full name of being a racist, that's much easier.

Ironic I should be accused of being a racist when Obama openly uses his skin colour to garner support.

Next you can accuse me of being a male schovanist because I think any woman who constantly allows her husband to cheat on her is either a weak willed person or merely enduring the marriage on political grounds.

That's my guess. He'll announce his running mate and 95% of the nation will say "Who?" because it'll be some governor or former governor not known outside of his state.

With that in mind, I'll note that Former Illinois Republican Governor George Ryan has a lot of time on his hands these days. Are you allowed to run for office from prison?

Well, at least Snopes seems to disagree.

I don't take a lot of stock in snopes as a source for info, while they may be correct in this case, they have been wrong on others, like this one -Snopes.

What are you? Some sort of intellecshual elitist who expects everyone to conform to your methods of spelling?

Anyway, I like Colin Powell as McCain's VP. Doesn't mean it's remotely likely, but I think it would be fun.

Did you bother to read your Snopes link all the way down? They've updated it to talk about the India story.

The urban legend as presented, woman gets a guy drunk at hotel, he awakens in an ice-filled tub sans kidney, is false. Just like "Obama is a dirty Muslim" is false.

Are you referring to India or something that actually happened where we might care about?

Well, the particular articles in question here are apples to oranges.

One is an urban legend, and an attempt to prove a negative, something which can't be done (can't prove that God doesn't exist, can't prove that people aren't out there stealing kidneys).

The other is a matter of a person's upbringing, and depends on researching positive facts. They may have been misguided in saying something wasn't happening when in fact they couldn't know for sure, but I doubt they are fabricating information about Obama's background while simultaneously overlooking proof positive that the statements are true.

And the sources that claim otherwise are far less reputable than snopes at least.

Southernfried is a rightwing wackjob with poor spelling and a tenuous grasp on the issues. I'm not sure you guys have to prove your point against him at all.

And maybe, Jophiel. It's such a dilemma because I think people can't underestimate the republican establishment. On the other hand, there are always relatively obscure team players that they can pass off as outsiders, like they tried to do on some level with Dubya and his Texasness. If they can sell him as a regular guy, they can do anything.

A search on snopes for kidney theft ring comes up with just this one example and they state it as false, which is where they are misleading. The fact that there has been a kidney theft ring operating in India for nearly 10 years should be the top item under this rumor, not buried on the bottom, and they should list it as partially true not false because of this ring. The difference from the cited email is only the victim's location changing from hotel to a clinic and the use of alcohol changing to a sedative. The victims were still conned into a situation where they were rendered unconscious against their will and awoke to find a Kidney gone.

The basic problem I have is they imply the rumor is 100% false and you have to search down at bottom to discover that it is only 10% false.

I think you're missing the point.

Where's YOUR valid source for this "fact" that Obama's father was a radical Muslim?

Kachi,

Have you ever heard the phrase guilt by association? Or we could look at american muslim organizations and see who they support. But I'm going with "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree".

p.s. Liberal playbook 101...discredit the source and you don't have to answer the question.

So, in other words, you don't have any valid sources.

True. And, if we could find an Indian hooker, he could be a source for kidneys.
