I don't find that necessary as much as I would like the ability to block/refuse PM's from people...or is that what you meant?

Nexa

I thought we could already do that? The only issue, if I remember correctly, is that it constantly shows you have an unread PM, you just can't see it because you've got the sender blocked.

Well that would just drive me ******* crazy.

She is a nice person. She just has some serious emotional issues, and I'm frankly tired of her inflicting them on anyone who will listen. That's what therapists are for.

I don't even mind that--what I mind is if you don't have time to listen, she'll bug you and demand that you listen to her and if that isn't successful, she'll retaliate in some fucked up way.

Well, sub-defaulting kinda works.

But, more importantly, what the fUck is going on?

First Katie goes all hippie and luvvy on us.

Then she invites half of the OOT here.

Then you guys turn out to be demonic hate monsters who post pictures of cats and of Kaain's small *****. Or did I dream it?

And finally, its left to the Asylumites to defend the poor and downtrodden through kind words and unabashed humanity.

If BT were dead, he'd turn in his grave.

And so would his duck.

I don't know you, but you're absolutely right.

Up is down, black is white, dogs and cats, living together, its total anarchy!

I agree. Smiley: lol

Thankfully, all of the people I would like to ignore don't PM me, so it's a little easier.

You don't like people railing on your children? DO NOT POST PICTURES OF THEM TO THE VERY COMMUNITY THAT IS RAILING ON THEM.

I'm sure she's a very nice person, but she also causes the admins stress, which is where I start getting annoyed.

I feel the same way about both sides of the issue...I just wish that both would stop perpetuating it. My main problem is that I think one side of the equation is less bright than the other and I've always had more of a problem with intellegent people (especially collectively) ganging up on someone who, while they SHOULD know better, quite possibly doesn't. That may be my own naivety, but I'll keep it in favor of having one small part of myself that isn't a completely bitter cynic. We can't all be Smasharoo Smiley: wink

This is the attention. I do hope you understand that?

What you're failing to see here, though, is that this thread is the product of months of pent-up frustration. We've been tiptoeing over this issue for a long time over in the OOT, and now that we're being told to take it to the Asylum, Mindel is doing so in the most Asylumesque way possible.

I won't pretend to know what you're talking about, but something in me is asking how one person is capable of "occupying the time and energy of people" without their permission to do so. If someone PM'd me, I could ignore it, if someone messaged me, I could ignore or block it, if someone called me, I guess I'd be asking myself why I'm not more to blame for giving out enough personal information to be called. I appreciate the fact that you and others may be frustrated, but you seem to be of the mind that you're entirely blameless. You think she is attention seeking, so you give her attention and then you're surprised that she continues to seek you out. /boggle

I don't see us as "blameless" or innocent. I know full well what I am doing and the fact that there is definitely maliciousness or I'm acting poorly on some level. But realistically, people attempted to reach out to her to be supportive. Much of the attempts were one of genuine caring. I first started talking to Melody because I like her and cared about what was going on with her--but to be honest, I felt really angry at her--not so much about how she treated me but how she treats alot of other people who similarly tried to be supportive. Maybe no good deed goes unpunished but then again, to an extent, we're all responsible for our own behavior, but we're also all entitled to our anger and the ability to set limits and boundaries with other people.

Okey-dokey. If you all are okay with encouraging the behavior you claim to hate, I have no real problem with it.

She hasn't exactly run away, which of course she's free to do as well.
