FEMA sent us a letter and stated that we must get flood insurance on our old mortgage (we just refianced that day to a lower rate). So now we are waiting for another letter from the ALL Powerful FEMA!
If our house is underwater, then the entire Shen Valley in Virginia would be in pretty dire straits and I-81 would be under 30 feet of water... I'll be sure to let you guys know when the water reaches the bottom of the hill we live on.

That was one of the first things we checked when were in escrow for our house. But then again, earthquake possibiilty balances it out.
What with global warming you very well may live in a flood zone. Me Ill just float out to sea.
