I agree on Italian wedding, but only if it's home made and not the canned crap. And you have to specify which kind of clam chowder. There's the real kind and then there is the New York kind

Clam chowder is a soup involving a white sauce. Red sauce clam chowder is obviously tainted and likely unfit for human consumption. If that answers your question.

Ditto on the chile. Some idiot was advocating the use of ground turkey to me the other day. I was this close to tossing his beer in his face.

New England clam chowder. Pretty much the only thing* that Maine is good for besides skiing.

*Except you. Don't get all huffy.

If you were from Maryland the only answer would be Crab Soup.

Otherwise I may have voted for gaupacho. You know the cold tomato based spanish soup that Koalian mispelled as well.

"Gazpacho".

Also, I prefer that my soup NOT leak, so "Leak Soup" is out.

Nothing like a hot bowl of French Onion soup, with melty swiss on the bottom, and charred swiss over top.

I used to adore shark's fin soup when I was a kid. They served it at my local Chinese restaurant, and it wasn't even a delicacy back then. Unfortunately, I've grown a conscience since then so i don't eat it anymore. They also made a great Pho soup, its more Vietnamese than Chinese, and it has loads of stuff in it, beef slices, noodles, spring onions, and lots of other stuff.

Really yummy.

Kicks the shIt out of Wagamama any day.

The fresh seafood chowder served at the pub(I think it was McDermott's) in Doolin, County Clare, Ireland, is the best ever.

It was so good I almost wept when I first tasted it.

Seriously.
