*Last week Sick was away for work and I stayed home with the kids. It wasn't too bad. By the end we were all cranky and needing a break, but nothing major.

*Night before Sick was to come home I came down with a cold. Nothing huge at that point, but it's gotten progressively worse. My throat's swollen from coughing so hard. No cough medicine on the market has yet to be able to get rid of it, only slightly diminish. That's fine so long as the kids were healthy, right?

*Sunday Ashe came down with a fever. Monday he developed a rash. Tuesday he was diagnosed with Hand foot and mouth disease, a common childhood illness. Think chicken pox, but the rash isnt itchy. We've been quarrentined since Sunday and will be so until at least Tuesday. The virus lasts 7-10 days. I worked really hard trying to keep Zavi from Ashe, Lysoling and Purelling the fuck out of everything and everyone, so he wouldnt get it. Andit's been pretty much all on me, as Sick is working two jobs, getting ready to transfer to his own new company. He's been working his *** off, and cant really help me with the kids too much. Understandable but the past couple days I'm getting to the point where I just need that break.

*Today Zavi gets home from school, fine and dany. Within one hour he's lethargic, and whimpering. I check his head and he's burning up. up to bed I carry him, Motrin on hand, thinking to myself fuck fuck fuck!

So now it looks like we're stuck home bound for another 7-10 days when I thought I was just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And I get to deal with 2 sick and grumpy kids on my own. I need to get out and just beat the crap out of someone. It might make me feel better.

Sounds to me that you need to live the American dream. You know, Vicoden, Darvocet, Percocet, Demerol, etc.

Combine with alcohol and/or pot for an added effect. Your aches and pains will melt away, and hey, you'll be too passive to care.

heh, Im not sure a case of wine will do much anymore. Maybe some valium, or even better, a cruise away by myself. Tare will confirm I've already been going crazy being cooped up the past couple days. Now I'm getting postal.

That sucks. My condolences.

Make the old man take you on a weekend gettaway in the immediate future. Try to stay sane till then.

You could also try ************* That's a good way to relieve stress, or so I've heard.

If you mean the virus that makes you explode from both ends at the same time, husband and eldest had that two weeks ago. Not a pretty sight. I was only nauseus, and Ashe missed it entirely. But that was one awful bug.

Poor DSD! At least I can ship mine off now and then.

Last Sat I am moving, have tons of teens coming over to help. Son and I go to Walmart because he's feeling crappy, I thought a new bed might help. We get to bed section, he texts me... was standing right next to me Smiley: oyvey and says he can't breathe, he sits down on floor and passes out. I call his grandma to ask if indian's have an ER closer than the one that is over an hour away, she says no and she will come get him. Lots of crap ensues, the dad calls me a few names, I tell him off. In the end, T had an asthma attack, has the flu, bad case of allergies, dehydration, and a pulled back muscle... he got lots of pills!

Yikes, that sucks, kid. Sorry to hear that you're so overwhelmed. I'm surprised they let Zavi go to school if you're quarantined.

Ask Sick to please make the time to help you for one night. Four hours isn't much to ask, and it'll go a long way to helping you recharge your batteries and continue to hold down the fort.Sometimes it pays to take a step back, say "I need help".

I feel for you, DSD. being stuck taking care of sick kids, with little help should be a major issue for humanists to take on. Do as my oldest does and demand an evening out alone. After a month of dealing with youngest being sick most of the month, she went to see Juno on the 5$ popcorn night. The Baltimore area has a lot of places offering Mom's Night out specials.

Of course she also is comfortable taking buses anywhere she wants to go. Her sister in SC, is stuck in small town with out a drivers license and had few weeks were boyfriends kids were sick on his days to care for them.

So tell Slick, you are going to take a night off and he has to deal with the kids. Then get out and enjoy yourself.

update:

Yay! I think I missed the bullet. Xavier had a fever Fri and Sat, but by Sunday he was feeling alright. No rash, no spots. I woke him up this morning for school and he said he wasnt feeling too good and wanted to stay home. I agreed and told him to go back to bed. 20 minutes later he was bouncing on my bed and decided he really wanted to go. No temp, so I agreed. He was dressed, fed, and out the door for the bus in 10 minutes. Oy I'm tired.
Ashe is on the mend now. His rash is fading fast, no temps, and no need for Motrin for the past two days.

I think I may be able to go out and enjoy the weather starting tomorrow. thank Bob cause I was about to kill someone from being cooped up in the house for over a week
