I'm in Downtown DC. Chicago based lawfirm Lawfirm. Listening from my little cubicle-hole to the soft-spokenly dull conversations going on about things that I will never care about.. trying to fudge out my task list as the most intense thing I've done here in the past month is swap a hard drive in a laptop...

Now I'm shifting between revising and inventory sheet and pointlessly spamming F5.. wondering when I should go all the way downstairs and smoke a cig.... or if I should go to their $1000 coffee maker and be amazed at it's hypnotic neon lights..

Enjoying the rain. The weather is below minimums, thus allowing me a rare but treasured opportunity to say, "***** you! I'm not gonna fly and you can't make me!" to the dispatchers. Tough **** if you're too stupid to slow down on the highways this morning. Shoulda known that wet, rainy conditions are just a wee bit more difficult to manage than the dry, sunny weather we normally have around here, Mr. I'm-Late-For-Work-And-Now-Am-Going-85-MPH-On-Roads-Covered-In-1/2-Inch-Of-Water.

I swear, while other states have obnoxious drivers with peculiar bad habits, California's have to be the stupidest I've ever had the pleasure of scraping up off the pavement. Tailgating 3 feet behind another car in zero/zero visibility, the aforementioned 85 mph-er Formula Oneing his way to work on wet roads covered in oily water, cellphoning, iPoding, eating an In-and Out burger, and making double or triple lane changes without looking or signaling. Amazing Kali highways don't look like the Valley of Death in Kuwait after the '91 Gulf War.

Oh yeah, baby, I'm gonna take a long sweet nap now. Maybe for 3 or 4 hours.

I'm comparing the shiny and new National Response Framework to the old and dull National Response Plan so I can amend policy and procedure accordingly. Smiley: glare

I've also gotta get two contracts finalized today and hope to get two chapters read in my class textbook Smiley: grin.

No silly, I only work for a state agency. But that particular document is referenced, and has to be adhered to in our own responses to chemically type emergencies.

Just got home from work and threw a load of laundry in the washing machine, enjoying a few slices of pizza and a beer.
