We've got this Sauna literally right around the corner from us. With Maines long cold winters the husband and I have kicked around the idea of indulging in an evening of suanas, swimming and spas but neither of us has ever done 'nude' in public.

How 'comfortable' are you doing the nude?

I'm totally down with it. I'd grocery shop in the nude if I could. :22 (25.0%)
I'm ok with it in intimate controlled setting:36 (40.9%)
My bodies for me and my SO only.:21 (23.9%)
I'm uncomfortable with ANYONE seeing my nekkid body - litesoff sex.:4 (4.5%)
I can't even look at myself in the buff. Swimsuit showers ftw!:5 (5.7%)

I went with 2.

It's not like I have the urge to expose me meat and 2 veg in the works canteen, but I work on the basis that all men have a *****, and it doesn't bother me if I make them feel inadequate.

I'd be worried about the lawsuits. I mean what if I unexpectedly turned around quickly and accidentally cut someone in half?

Forget the public nudity, those saunas have got to be filthy. I'd wear a wet suit if I were you.

Why?

There are not tons of reviews about the place, but the ones I've read havn't mentioned anything about them being filthy, and in fact, one said the whole facility was very clean.

I'm guessing they'd have to be held to the same sanitary standards that any other pool/spa would be held to. Plus, they don't allow kids. From my experience with public pools they're the biggest contribution to yuckiness.

I had to pick #3 just because I have a poor body image, just one of my hangups. Otherwise I'd be fine with #1, weather permitting.

I think anyone should have the right to be nude wherever it does not pose a threat to personal or public safety. I just wish America wasn't the land of the obese though.

If you trust your most intimate of parts to a public surface, go for it. I'm saying that for me, nudity wouldn't be the primary consideration.

I hearted nude beaches when I was in college. Haven't been to one since I've been married, but Mr. Thumb said he may be open to the idea. I hope so. I hate tan lines.
