I grew up with the cane sugar versions of many different sodas, Fanta being my favorite. I can't stand soda here.
On occasion I'll have a sip of a fountain soda because it's tolerable, but I can't even finish a kid's size. There is a noticeable difference in taste to those who care to note it.

I'm sure that's true, but what else am I supposed to argue about?

The Yankees? Romney? The War. Taxes, welfare, the way you're asked to do something, people who only wear suits, toy dogs, 'gourmet candies', real estate?

I suppose there's always people who don't go to the dentist, unremittent name-droppers, antiquated bastages who still believe in a monarchy, folks who add extra vowels to words and people who routinely tout their kitchen skillz.

I had some of this Mexican Coke just last night (from my local Mexican run conveince store).

It was good. But better? Well, I'd prefer it to watered down fountain sodas and 2 litre bottles of Coke, but not not to canned coke.

Mmmm....aluminum.

That said, I imagine it really did taste much better with Cocaine.

At first, but afterwards there's that dopamine drip you have to contend with.

I do find that canned coke tastes better than the plastic bottled ones. I expect its a combination of:
1) The plastic taste leaching into the soda (something you can clearly taste if you leave plastic bottled water in the sun)
2) the fact that plastic breathes, albiet very slowly, and a small amonut of carbonation is lost;
3) Plastic bottles are clear and the sun can change the taste during storage or transport if the soda is exposed, plus inreasing item one above, and I often see large pallettes of soda sitting in the sun at beverage wholesalers and outside the coke bottling plant by the LIE in NYC.
4) Metal cans cool faster than plastic bottles and colder soda tastes better as it stays carbonated longer.

Your perception of how it tastes, though, are really more important.
The California Institute of Technology agrees

Quote:
Researchers at the California Institute of Technology have shown that a person's enjoyment of wine can be heightened if they are simply told that it is an expensive one.

Twenty-one volunteers were asked to sample different bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon and rate the ones they preferred.

The only information they were given was the price of the wine - but in a number of cases, they were not told the real price. In one case, the volunteers were given two identical red wines to drink and were told that one cost much less than the other.

Most described the "higher priced" wine as much more enjoyable.

Researchers also managed to pass off a $90 (£46) bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon as a $10 bottle and presented a $5 as one worth $45.
