anyone get a Zune ?Follow

got one for my kid. it may very well turn me away from the Zen. wireless download and transfers. you can download files from any other zune wirelessly, without having to transfer it to a pc first.

the zen still has more features, like voice recording, but the wireless thing just rocks. creative labs better get it intop gear if they want to compete with that.

on a side note, my inlaws bought my daughter a ipod. talk about featureless. doesnt even have a fm tuner built in, much less voice recording or wireless transfer. toss in you can only down load it to a pc that has the ipod softwear on it already......thinking real hard about "regifting" it to some lucky kid next year.

I have a Sansa. Works swimmingly, no needed software and I don't know anyone who I'd want to wirelessly swap songs with anyway. Hell, my Sansa already has features I've no interest in using so no need to add more.

wireless transfers are going to sell it to the teen market. they can download songs from anyone who bought the cd and transfered it on the spot without waiting for a bud to burn a disk for them. my wife uses her mp3 player for her aerobic classes. now she can share her songs with the other instructers anywhere any time.

my zen has alot of features too, but, wireless transfers rock. hopefully it catches on to other players.

Yeah, all they do is play music well. The design is the thing with Ipods. It's an Apple product OF COURSE it costs more for the same bullet pointed functionality. What you're buying is the design, not the functional specifications. While that makes not a great deal of sense when you're talking about a Mac vs a PC, when you're talking about a few hundred dollar device that plays music, it's far more important than voice recording that you'll use once every 20 years.

You're basically arguing that a Pontiac Aztec is better than a Ferrari because it holds more groceries and runs on cheap gas.

Ditto. No complaints about my Zune. Yeah, the touch screen would be nice, but all I need is something to listen to tunes with when I'm on the bike or working out. That's the only time I ever use it.

I've had my Zune for almost a year. I have had absolutely no issues with it. I've had two iPods crap out on me. Even before they went tits up, both iPods had issues, and had to be rebooted regularly. Not so the Zune. I put music it on it, keep it charged, and it works perfectly. YMMV.

Horses for courses I spose.

I had an iPOD Mini that was problem-free - I gave that to DF and AFAIK it's fine.

I bought a 60Gb iPod 5G and 3 years on it's never let me down once.

All my music is mp3 format.

On my rare lapses into buying from iTunes, I burn to a virtual CD and rip back to mp3
