What games are people playing these days?

Is anyone in Warhammer AoR beta?...shouldn't that game be released soon?

Who's still playing LoTRO..is it panning out to be a game that's in it for the long haul?

Is ANYONE still playing Vanguard? I'm gonna play it again. I miss it.

I'm watching another upcoming MMO, Darkfall - it's only in it's first stages of beta, so there is little in the way of players opinions yet.

Though not an MMO, it seems I've been waiting forever for Spore to come out. It finally has a release date of this March. You can pre-order it now on Amazon.

I'm still playing EQ (duh). I think the game as reached epic status. Populations seem to have stabilized, and I think after many years of trial and error, SoE has finally managed to do a decent job balancing stuff; balancing the many classes' ablities, as well as balancing effort/reward for soloing, grouping and raiding. The amount of content is, of course, overwhelming. My husband is slowly losing interest though (I'm surprised I ever got him to play this game to begin with). When he's done, I'll probably go back to Vanguard.

My brother picked up EQ2 so I've been playing that. I've actually been leveling mostly just to keep ahead of him for annoyance factor. Who knows? one of these days he may even post here.

I'm pretty much out of the MMORPG scene for the time being. I waste some time playing Dungeon Runners, a Diabloesque hack 'n slash which is almost entirely instanced. It's mindless, repetative mob killing but it takes very little out of me in time or effort. Also it's $5/mth (or free with ad support) which I can justify easier than $15.99 for mainstream MMORPGs.

Still playing WoW, still having fun with it, mostly due to my guild mates. I have a regular group, which makes things so much more fun.

I started playing WoW again and it was supposed to be temporary, but my hubby and I have started duoing, and it's been a lot of fun. Thing is, he's going back to his regular night shift now that the holidays are over, so I'm losing my gaming partner. So I may just pick up EQ2 again soon.

Hooked on LoTRO - ditched EQ, EQ2, WoW, Vantard & "Pirates of the Commodore 64 Graphics" (or whatever it's called)

There's a pretty vibrant Allah based kinship on Meneldor server ("There is No Fith Star") that keeps things fun.

It's a great guild Smiley: grin

I'm on a mad dash to 70 so I can run instances with the rest of Sam's guild, and they make it so much fun to play.

I'm Still on WoW and will be for another 12 months at least, with such limited playtime i can barely even keep levels churning over playing EQlite.

As for the new up and coming games, they all seem to be forced PvP which means i won't be playing them. I don't know why they can't make games PvE with area's to PvP anymore, maybe i just getting old.

I'm completley off MMO's. I recently picked up an Xbox 360, so I've been playing some of the great games that I couldn't before (Oblivion, Bioshock, etc...)

The funny thing with Oblivion is I keep expecting to see someone else walking around doing quests. Everytime I sell something to a merchant I keep wondering if it would be better to sell it in the bazaar.

On top of that, I've been extra busy with work, and since I work at home now, I tend to spend time working when the little one is sleeping, instead of playing games.

I think about jumping into EQ from time to time (mostly when they send me a free month) but I know it just won't be the same without everyone still kicking around there.

Still dablling in EQ2 but haven't been on much lately. Like Frak, I just got an xbox360 and have been playing Guitar Hero2 & 3, and Call of Duty 4 with buddies online. The only sucky part is Xbox Live is worse than Alla's for connection and performance. I've been told it's only a recent event, probably coinciding with me signing up.

I'm still looking forward to the Conan MMO due out in March though. I will definitely jump on that bandwagon, at least to see what it's like.

Still slogging away with EQ2. Lovin' it sometimes, ready to quit (again) other times. I just don't really have the time to level fast and so it's reeeeeaaally slow goin' for me. Nads, come back! I'll group with you! Smiley: cool

Mr. Tare is really excited about Spore too. Should be neat; I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Speels gud!

I would be playing Lotr if I had anytime between making hospital visits. Dad is going home Saturday, Jonwin may be sent home Sat. or Sunday. Then I can maybe find time to check my alts mail and get a few hours of game time. That is when I'm not being Jonwin's house slave.

His surgery went well today, but it will be a few weeks until he can bend his knee and start hopping about on his own. I way too tire to even think of playing more then a few games of solitaire. Every person we tell how he broke his leg agrees that he was stupid.

He'll have arthritis in a few years and then need to have knee replaced. I ran into my brother-in-law on way down to catch my ride home and got a update on my sister, who is home recovering from having her jaw wired shut the day after Christmas. Seems half of my family has been in hospital lately.

I reinstalled the shiny that is WoW. Smiley: frown Basically, I sold my account to someone who got me 4 levels and a whole mess of gold and then wanted his money back. He got half. So I made $25 for letting him play for 2 weeks. Which then pays for me to play for 2 months.

When a 10 day trial comes up, Nobby and Yan get the gold I have sitting on my LoTRO char.

I switch between console and PC every other week I swear. Games and for enjoying and when my mood changes, I don't force myself to stick around. It actually works out nicely that way.

I'm not playing anything addictive again until I'm rich and have an overabundance of time.

Yes, I believe in reincarnation.

I'm in LotRO and still digging it, although I haven't been on in a few weeks due to my vacation. It's a pretty great game to play when you're really extremely drunk, and that is important to me.

I got the email from Vanguard recently inviting me to come back for free over the holidays. I admit it was tempting, because there are a lot of things about that game that I really dug, but not enough to reinstall the beast if all they're doing is reinviting past players. Once they feel confident enough in their product to start offering a legitimate free trial I'll probably check it out again.

ditched LOTR a while back, just to small in scope. quit WoW after getting to 70 and getting a griffin any the epic warlock horse. kids still play it though. wonder what my guild thinks about my level 70 toon begging for plat, hahahaha, my kid spends his time in goldshire with my level 70 warlock asking for gold.

currently taking a tour of the old world in EQ1, just incase it is gone forever soon, and waiting for the pirates game to launch. it doesnt look that great, and seems its going to be Earth and Beyond game play only with sailing ships instead of space ships, but the first 20 levels or so in any new game are great IMO.

hoepfully that will carry me untill Age of Conan launches in may. and if Conan sucks wind, the new WoW expansion launches at the same time.

i might try Vanguard again too. spent 3 weeks in EQ1, long enough to see nothings changed, its raid or grind in a corner for aa points and levels. so pretty sure im almost done with that. depends on how board i get from now untill pirates launches weather i try Vanguard again. BTW SOE did a great job revamping some of the zones like ocean of tears, commons, and a few starting cities with much improved graphics. no one usses them and its pretty much wasted effort, but they really look sweet.

I didn't. Smiley: glare

I beta'd the Pirates game for a bit. I would play for about 10mins and then change my outfit. I repeated this until I had tried mixing and matching nearly all various ensembles. The fashions were fun. The gameplay was horrid.

Still playing WoW, although I feel that's quickly coming to an end. The game just doesn't hold much interest for me anymore, and since I can't do the 25-man raids with my guild due to work, there's not much point in petering around doing daily quests.
