Ground-breaking will begin today on the new wing of the estate to house all of the landfill crap the kid got. Grandparents, aunts and uncles and over-indulgent parents = lots and lots of toys no one really needs. Books and clothes rounded out the haul. My wife made out like a bandit because I have no self control. I got some XBox games and some cooking stuff (mini cheesecake pan will come in mighty handy).

Breakfast at home early and then off to the folks house for dinner. Sister goes and gets engaged to steal everyone's thunder. Self important ****.

Nothing to do with Christmas, but I thought of you the other day. I saw a man walking a standard Schnauzer and thought of your doggies, to be specific.

I'd never seen a standard Schnauzer. I didn't know there was such a thing. Very cool dog.

No, he does have poodles. It's just that standard poodles are as different from minis as standard Schnauzers are from the ones you generally see.

Thus far:

-Books: A Thousand Splendid Suns (which I'm three quarters of the way through and currently puffy-eyed over) and The Jane Austen Book Club
-Jeopardy! Home Game
-Pajamas
-Two calendars (one is a one a day office-dare calendar that I plan on bringing to work and attempting to carry out regularly.
-Cash! Woot!
-A cinnamon ornament made by Hannah
-A stoneware bread pan with beer-bread mix
-A yankee candle, already regifted
-More cash, woot!
-A pastry blender, a suspected regift

Hannah got a ridonkulous amount of stuff, and she's having a ball. She was also upgraded to a big-girl room, and I'm amazed she actually slept through the night in her bed when she had the ability to run around her room. I haven't gone to boyfriend's yet. I think I have about a trunkload of stuff for him and his family, haha.

I really can't get into it, but it involves an eggplant, a slip and slide, and a case of 30 wt motor oil.

Merry Christmas all!! I had a pretty rough one, but things are looking up now.

Thankfully due to us insisting that our kids receive clothes, our house doesn't look like an annex of China.

My brother got me this really expensive LG portable DVD player. I watched Children of Men on it and the resolution is really awesome. The screen swivels and flips and all these neatass things. It's the most beautiful and expensive gift he's ever given me (since he's finally not broke this year). Smiley: inlove

I got a Sansa MP3 player from a good friend, books I wanted (A Thousand Splendid Suns, hardcover versions of Neverending Story and Where the Red Fern Grows), dinner gift cards to Sam Choy's, and a $50 gift card to Sephora from the Mr.

I'm making those currently. It's a good thing that I took so many pictures in Chicago!

I've got those cheese slicers beat by a mile. I got an Ove Glove!/

Kitca got me a shiney new 22" HD flat screen monitor which is making me a very happy gamer, and other fun items. We had my family over. Kitca and I were both wrecks by the end of the night (on accounta we were too busy to even drink).

It was fun, but I'm glad it's done.

Merry (somewhat belated) Christmas!

Ended up just being with family, nothing too special. It's the first time we've all been together in three to four years, so my mother was thrilled, if nothing else.
