I was up almost every hour last night (thanks Jack), it's 5 am and I am up for the day (thanks Jack), I want to smother myself already (thanks Jack) and a whole Christmas day is still ahead.

Merry Fucking Christmas. Smiley: bah

Bah Humbug!

actually my eldest hasn't uttered a word yet he's utterly stunned by new toy's and the little one has gone back to sleep.

I'm uploading photo's for the family to coo at and then i'm going back to the mince pies and loving (if utterly distracted and very occasional) looks from my son.

there may be more than a touch of brandy in them there mince pies and i can't spell anymore.

I'm thinking Jack should have been introduced to a little bit of liquor in his milk so he'd settle down and go to sleep. What? Santa would have thanked you I'm sure!

I'm still awake. My younger sister (18 yo) has been staying with me almost constant since Mr.Katie is off playing GI-Joe. She comes in about 5am this morning from a date and I greet her with the news she is going home to Mom's today. I want my house back. I don't have kids and don't feel I should have to pick up after one that isn't my own. Nor should I be the one thats up worried about whether or not she's going to get home ok because her battery was dead earlier. Good kid, first year of college but my house is not a dorm hall. I miss my peace and quite. I miss my nice clean house. I miss my house not smelling like smoke because her BF smokes like a chimney. I miss not having to go search down towels and not washing/folding cloths that aren't mine. I'd charge rent except she doesn't earn enough with her part time job to pay. So out she goes, back to our Moms where she can get her laundry done by mom and have all her food and bills provided for. Merry Christmas Katie!

That and I don't have to worry about her hearing my BOB from down the hall late at night. I don't know why I'd be self conscious about that, it's my damn house!

Just make sure you wake Jack up every time he dozes off for a nap. That'll learn 'im!

We got up around 7:30 here. My son has already plowed through his presents, and I've got my coffee, but I'm trying to decide if I should go back to bed. I've got the cold that wouldn't die Smiley: frown

Merry Christmas all! Smiley: boozing

I can never get to sleep on Christmas Eve - so I was up until about 5am on the Interwebs looking at tri-state dog shelters. Since I seem to be handling 3 dogs ok, I'm probably going to adopt a little female dog to offset all the testosterone in the house. Of course, not until Stanley goes back to his family (my brother's family) which isn't until this Saturday.

I spent the morning giving out treats and their stocking stuffers - 3 small soft stuffed animals. I'm regretting the gorilla choice - when squeezed you hear, quite loudly, "Oo Oo!! Ahh! Ahh! Ahh!!" (and it isn't sex screams...well unless they're ape sex screams!)

Then I pooper-scooped the yard - always a fun activity. I love the smell of dog doody in the morning. Smiley: oyvey

I'll hold off on disclosing my Christmas lewt until someone puts up the yearly thread for it.

We celebrated Christmas Eve Peruvian-style last night with ham, esalada rusa, wild rice and croissants. We toasted with sparkling white grape juice because Joph Jr. can't hold his liquor. Then we waited a bit and placed the baby in the manger and opened one gift apiece. In my family, we have dinner around 10pm on Christmas Eve and then open presents and place baby at midnight, but Joph asked me to move it up because otherwise he'd be playing Santa at 3am.

This morning, Jr woke us up at 7:30am to show us the comic he had put together for Santa had been autographed, and that Santa had also eaten his croissant and truffles (yeah, that's how we roll). We sat on the couch and opened gifts. My highlights: the laptop I'm currently typing this on, and Jr.'s very touching and unexpected "I heart u Mom" necklace, which I am wearing as I type this.

I was so convinced I'd be miserable today, missing my mother and sister and family in VA that I didn't realize how thrilled I am with the one I'm making.

So yeah, Merry Christmas.

Keep your opinions to yourself. I got the same book for my dad, and I plan on reading it when he's done.

Great Christmas here. My mother and brother spent last night here. Brad, my brother, was on guard duty and a damn good thing too. Xavier woke up at 3 am, tried to sneak past him sleeping on the couch and almost pissed his pants in fear when Brad jumped up and asked him what he thought he was doing Smiley: lol Xavier tried to play dumb, saying he didnt know what time it was and he needed his transformer watch. Brad didnt buy it and escorted him back to bed. I found out about this at 7 am when everyone woke up. Brad and I nearly laughed our asses off while opening gifts, Xavier unwrapped his transformer watch. He had tried to bamboozle his uncle pretty badly and it sooo backfired. Smiley: grin

Other than that, we opened gifts, drank too much wine, found out I LOOOOVE corn pudding, and watched movies (kind of) while being bombarded and attacked by two kids using me as a trampoline. I think I got half of Pirates of the Caribbean 3, but I'll have to watch it again to really know what the hell happened.

Jonny over-acted, Keira pouted, Keef leered and Bill CGI'd.

Great movie Smiley: waycool

(I think I captured its essence in that anti-gbajiesque review)

Merry Christmas. I got a couple nice gifts and gift certificates. The past couple days were rough, had a party Sunday and lots of hard liquor was involved. One of these days I'll learn.

I was waking up every 2 hours last night thanks to my irritable bowels. Then when it was time to actually get up for the day my right hip wouldn't work properly and I couldn't stand. Eventually we were on our way upstate.

We had a nice breakfast at the diner where my mother-in-law works, then went up to my mom's house. My brother, his pregnant fiancee and her daughter finally came home after 7pm and we opened presents. And I just now got home.

It was a great Christmas; we got a lot of stuff for the baby (a second! crib, a Mozart CD, notice that a stroller/car seat/carrier was on the way) and then stuff for us which included tee-shirts, candles, books, etc.

My family and I got a visit from the Holiday Hawk for Christmas.

Seriously, though, a gigantic fucking hawk (we're pretty sure it was one of these) smashed through my parents' kitchen window while we were exchanging gifts this morning and proceeded to fly into our living room, knocking plants over and spraying broken glass everywhere until we managed to shoo it out the front door. It was a true holiday miracle.
