Weekend is half over, but I stay off line last 2 days being unsociable. Didn't check email, boards or get in game. Played Civ4 for 2 days. Yes I cheat, but seeing my first time winning UN vote and compare to Augustus Cesare, was sweet. Still trying to get over the cold Jonwin gave me. At least I didn't get his bronchitis, yet.

Went out with middle child to Historic Ellicott City, to see one of her favorite Fairy Artists. Jonwin had to work over nite on ship and decline to join us, for coffee, and shopping. I think the stores, just knew I was coming the day before my birthday and put all their Penguin toys and figurines, where I would notice them. I came home with a baby penguin in half of his shell, stuff animal, one wind up plastic toy penguin with Santa hat on spring and a wooden bird house in the shape of a old Fridge, with Penguins on Ice written on the door to keep some of my penguins in.

Budget didn't allow me to get the Penguin sign holder or every penguin toy and figurine I saw. Jonwin says I have way too many, but I feel that one can never have too many penguins. Plus my kids always know they can't go wrong getting me more penguins for my birthday and Christmas. As we enjoyed some coffee and tea, for the congested birthday girl, with a slice of peanut butter and chocolate cake, she gave me my present. Hair sticks with glass penguins beads, on the ends.

Tomorrow is the start of the count down to my reaching half a century old. I figure starting at 366 days, was a bit too much. I will just hint to my family that a party would be nice next year. Just don't do what my family did and also make it their annual Christmas party. For all those who share in having their birthday near or on a holiday, you can join me in a drink tomorrow. I think I'll start the day with a hot toddy.

I also hear gin is good hot, from the liquor store owner, who is from England. I think he just was trying to get me to buy one of the many imported gins he had. He had some nice Mead for us to try. I did pass up buying a bottle of Wicked Elf Ale. Need to read a review, before I buy a bottle with nice label.
