My work emails of last Monday morning contained a two-week resignation from my very best employee. He's going off to follow his dreams of being a middle-school English teacher or some such nonesence.

He's only been here about 7months, but he did my work really well right off the bat. It sucks.

Apparently, for the holidays this guy makes this spice rum/wine bevarage (he really needs a name for it). He gave me a bottle as I was cutting out of work early today.

I'm sipping on a bit right now. It's WONDERfully sweet and spicey and warm and tart.

It sucks to lose a good co-worker/employee. On the flip side, odds are his replacement will be worthless and you'll be able to fire someone. That can be fun too.

Speaking of booze, it's about time to run to the liquor store and pick some up. I need to get some wine for T-day dinner tomorrow. Any recommendations from those wine aficionados out there?

You're just upset that now you have to do your own work.

I was up in bed feeling mis able with a bad cold and decided it called for my Mom's home made cough medicine, that she use to have me make for my sore throat back in 12 grade. Only thing is I didn't have any lemons or booze in the house to add to the Killer Bee Honey I got this year.

Knowing my daughter was out getting a few last minute items she needed for dinner tomorrow, I call her cell phone and ask if she could pick me up some Irish whiskey. Since I knew it wouldn't go to waste around here. Instead she comes in and hands me a small brown paper bag with Jack Daniels in it. Darn if I was that desrapet for some booze I could have walked up 2 blocks to the corner liquor store for some.

Not that I should have but a tiny nib, since I'll be taking my pills at bedtime.

Meanwhile I figure since I'll be home sick this holiday, I will be able to use my Peruvian Yarn to knit grandkids hats and mittens.

Flea, I just had to buy it, when I saw that all the wool was from Peru. Some purple and blue llamas and sheep gave up some hair, just so my grand kids can be warm this winter.
