Shocking!

Quote:
"It's just one piece of evidence, one person's view. There are many people that we have spoken to," RCMP spokesman Cpl. Dale Carr said at a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

"What I urge is that those watching the video, take note of that. Put what they've seen aside for the time being. And wait to hear the totality of the evidence at the time of the inquest," Carr said.

From the 216 responses in the "Your View" section of the article it seems like people feel that a real time unedited video of the situation is pretty clear. I understand that the situation needs to be put into context, still the RCMP are perhaps the most well trained and highest paid police force in Canada and for something like this to happen speaks of a gross incompetence of an almost staggering nature.

Tasering a guy because he is angry and throws something at the floor ain't right any which way you cut it.

You only say that because you don't own a taser.

We taser all immigrants, it's a right of passage. If you can't take a few thousand volts of pulsing electricity how the hell are you going to handle our winters? It helps keep welfare heating bills down.

Honestly though, it's pretty sick at first glance, but he did apparently have a stapler in his hand when he was tasered. They might have thought it was a weapon. You can't see what happened just before he was tasered in the video.

Maybe, but still, he's said to have been tasered four times. That's excessive no matter what he was holding in his hand.

Fun though.

Actually the concept of 4 tasers being too much could be wrong. It's been shown that some of these drug addicts (not saying this man was or this applies to this case) who are hyped up on crack or meth tend to be able to get back up from a couple of taser shots and keep fighting. Depending on the situation it may not be beyond the threshold for some of these people.

I would say laying on the ground and twitching and howling in pain is a sure sign that he didn't need 4 shots. Which is moot considering the autopsy revealed he had no drugs or alcohol in his system at the time.

It's a damn travesty a civilian in a suit had to come check for the victims pulse because the RCMP's where far too busy being "big men".

Joph, better take note, don't babble in Polish while in a Canadian airport. And don't build a fort out of lounge furniture.

I've met many a Polish person, and I'm surprised the starch content of his daily diet alone didn't ground him---unless animal fat is energy-conducive, that is.

We don't think that way, Peruvians. I suppose Joph is my kin, but I've cut down on his pierogi rations.
